If Noli De Castro is endorsing this Khaos, well thats good if the intentions are clear without self interest. Sana naman, let us stop using them for our own interest lang. We should consider everybody, our future. The environmental condition today that we are having is getting worse. Good if that Kahaos can help address this problem. But today, with the government initiative through Memo Circular 55, directing all government land transport vehicle to incorporate 1 % by volume Biodiesel in all their disel fuel requirement, i think this is great to support. Our Biodisel will help to alleviatte the lives of our coco farmer, encourage them to plant rather than cutting trees, promote better health environment. For the motorist it will save them in terms of fuel consumption and maintenance and more importantly for our energy security. Let us support the cocobiodiesel program. This is for our childrens future.

well... biodiesel is in a different league compared to the Khaos device.

biodiesel use and research isn't confined to just the Philippines as Europeans are diesel-crazy and are experimenting with it too.

forgot to post this. Matagal na yung circular ni GMA na yun. They are really endorsing BD but maraming lobby groups ayaw pa. I have a copy of the circular regarding the adding 1% to the diesel consumption of GOCC's. Mga friends the western countries are not experimenting with this anymore, they are already using it. Since late 90's nasa pumps na sa France and Germany ang BD. Siyempre 3rd world so huli din tayo ng konti. Maganda maraming companies starting to produce BD. This will creat more awareness sa alternative fuel na ito. Remember the best result you will get out of using BD is better emissions. Looking at the smog sa MM during early mornings, dont you think its about time we do our part?

Or, you can try Flying V "Envirotek" or SeaOil "Bioexceed"... I use Bioexceed, 200ml each time I fill up P200 worth of DieselMax from Petron.

Ine-endorse na rin ba ng gobyerno ang LPG as a vehicle fuel replacement? Pwede ba sa diesel engine ito or sa gas engine lang ito?

looks like sa gas engine lang ito pwede based on some of the web documents i've seen... check out this site on mitsubishi dual fuel technology for outlander and shogun sport... it looks like there is no need for engine modification... you just need a separate tank for the lpg... you switch between tanks depending on which fuel you want to use.

    http://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/features/dualfuel.asp

benefit of lpg is cleaner exhaust... mileage and power is the same as gasoline.

OK...OK...back to the topic on biodiesel... I was just wondering why Petron which is partly owned by the government isn't selling biodiesel yet (?)... dapat naglabas na rin sila if the government is pushing for biodiesel usage. don't you think so guys?

yung sinasabi nyong gaseous fuel for diesel engines, CNG yun (compressed natural gas). yan actually ang pinu-push ng mga oil companies as alternative fuel dahil may pakinabang sila dyan (translation = kikita sila don, sila kasi ang magsu-supply from their exploration sites), unlike cocodiesel na magsasaka natin ang makikinabang ;). Sa India, widespread na ang gamit nyan. ang delikado lang dyan, kailangan mo ng air-tight tank - parang LPG tank - which will serve as your fuel tank. Delikeydes din pag nabangga kotse mo at narupture yung tangke.

    back to biodiesel;
remember that petron is also owned by Saudi Aramco - go figure if they will be happy to loose 1% of their profits from selling diesel diesel that is not even at par in quality with their own diesel in Saudi.

one of the difficulties of introducing biodiesel here in RP is the fact that our local diesel is way too cheap vs. the projected selling price of biodiesel. the price of biodiesel is mainly dictated by the price of our local coconut oil. Sa Europe and U.S., heavily taxed kasi ang diesel. kaya dun, halos kasing mahal or mas mahal pa ang diesel vs. gasoline. When they introduced biodiesel in Europe, they offered tax breaks to those who will add biodiesel to their petroleum based diesel. Dito sa Pinas, you can't take the same approach since our government is heavily dependent on taxes on fuel. Mawawalan sila ng pera pag binigyan nila ng tax cut ang mga local oil companies if they blend biodiesel. Simple economics lang talaga ang usapan - to put it in a more blunt statement, kung kikita ba ang mga oil companies sa pagpe pre-add ng biodiesel sa diesel stock nila, heck, mag-uunahan pa yang mga yan sa pagbebenta ng diesel premixed with biodiesel.
the benefits of biodiesel is proven and tested - it's only a matter of econo-politics that's getting in the way of fully implementing the use of biodiesel.
this is my 2 cents take on the subject :D

RSNALD, your 2 cents worth is right on the ball. You are most correct why our oil companies are reluctant to push for biodiesel. They do not see the profit and goodwill potential in marketing a B1 or B2 blend.

However, they do add additives into their gasoline like Blaze, Vortex Gold and Velocity and market it at a premium (better profit margin too). They should take same approach with Diesel.

Selling a product that improves air quality is a very effective marketing campaign. Furthermore, the PR mileage of doing good for the agri sector, environment, and channeling dollars from oil importation to local economy can bring them so much goodwill !

Bless Seaoil, Flying V and Eastern Petroleum - these 3 independents see biodiesel in the correct light. With that I hope their market share increases from 8% to 20% !!

    quiksie,
check this out . Biodiesel is available at your footstep. HL # 6359000. You may also want to visit seaoil, flying v, and eastern petroleum gasoline station nearest you.
Raf, i had seen one LPG vehicle na kotse. Since our LPG is produced with mercaptans, it smells bad during run. This mercaptans is designed sa LPG for safety purpose. It is intended to emit strong smell pera ma detect if there are LPG leaks sa household. Anyway , Wala pa naman emission regulations for mercaptant so probably baka pwede pang gamitin.

    BioActiv

GMA endorses use of Biodiesel thru MC 55.
