mga fellow tsikoteers question lang, what is the time you load up the gas? ano ba pwede mangyari kung hihintayin pa natin umilaw yung empty warning before tayo mag gas up or magpoint sa empty reading yung fuel gauge natin, totoo ba na mabilis tayo magpapalit ng fuel filter? and one more thing totoo kaya na mas maganda daw magpa gas up kung sa gabi instead na sa tanghali kung saan mainit at mataas ang sikat ng araw.. ano po ba mga opinyon nyo dito?

Pag half tank na ako gas ulit, the reason is always ready. Changing fuel filter, wala naman masama kung palitan every year total mura lang naman and Im pretty much sure your car will love you for doing this.

Sa gabi OK pwede na din but not as good as early AM kasi hindi kasing lamig.

For my diesel, kahit anong oras. It's not as volatile as gasoline so the vapors won't easily expand and contract. So when I gas up for the gassers in our garage, I try to do it in the morning or really late at night, preferably before the fuel truck comes to load another batch of fuel into the station.

I know my car's range is around 500 miles max, yan ang pinakamalayo ko naabot with a single full tank. The other car naman, I haven't checked but the reserve light turns on when I've consumed around 15 gallons, which makes the fuel tank around 25% full at that point.

Do a search, there's been some good threads as to why it's better to fill up when it's colder. The primary reason is gasoline expansion, and the prevention of vapors forming up (both during hot afternoon hours or right after the fuel station reservoirs have been refilled - all the crud is sent up in the mixture so you also get that crud at the pump).

Around half tank or maybe a bit less but I try not to wait for the light to tell me I am low on fuel. One reason is you start to pick up all the dirt from the bottom of the tank which can clog up the fuel filter. The other reason is the price of gas keeps going up and seeing what 21 gallons cost($75) gives me a migraine, so doing it at half tank is alot less shocking. Besides the last time I waited till it reached 1/4 tank gas went from $3.48 to $3.60 per gallon on base by the time I filled up two days later. I wish they would announce it here like in the Philippines.

Maybe that was part of the shock and awe?

    Oops getting OT sorry hehe...

I doubt you are getting 15mpg on your diesel mixed city and highway.

pag hinintay mo kase mag warning, baka lahat ng dumi sa fuel tank mapunta sa linya ng fuel. baka magkaroon pa ng clogging sa filter mo.

yup, i heard there is this logical reason na mas maganda magpa gas when the temp is cool. lalo na pag mga 100 100 or 200 ka maglagay ng gas. parang mas condensed ata ang gas when the temp is cool. Unlike pag mid day na parang expanded ata sya or something like that kaya mas konti naka karga sa oto mo.

Typically once a week, mga 35 to 39 liters (45 liters ang tank).

Dito ako sa pasig kumakarga, so kung makikita ko na di na ako makakabalik the next day na di naka-ilaw ang low fuel warning, kakarga na ako. For the past weeks every friday. Kasi, every saturday, early morning nagtataas ang gas.

Pero kung may out of town trip ng week end, kahit na 3/4 full pa, kakarga na ako to the brim. Mga 40+ km ang byahe ko at night pa uwi sa bahay, so by the time nasa house na ako, may space na ang gas para mag expand sa init the next day.

No but I recently found a fuel leak, so there goes the last $40 I spent on fuel.

i think negligible ang thermal expansion ng fuel natin kasi buried or underground ang storage tank ng mga yan, meaning almost consistent ang temperature kasi unexposed. ang hindi lang maganda kung daytime ka magpakarga is that you have to turn off the engine and of course the aircon, so uncomfortably mainit ang ma-feel mo.

thanks for giving me an idea. sa mahal ba naman ng gas ngayon, almost 49 pesos na per liter and every week tumataas.. malaking tulong ito sa atin kung totoo man na mas maganda nga magpa gas up sa gabi because of "gasoline expansion", and dun din sa fuel filter. another question totoo ba na, pagtaas ng octane rating pagtipid ng fuel consumption at paglakas ng hatak? right now im loading unleaded gas (93ron) so pag nag shift kaya ako sa premium (95ron) mas titipid kaya ako sa FC? 50cents din kasi ang difference between the two gasoline. sa manual ko 93ron-up ang dapat kong gamitin na fuel.

Unless you have a high compression engine the higher octane will just make your wallet lighter. Any improvement will be neglible compared to the higher cost of the gas.

sir glenn, yes its true na mas matipid ng konte yung 95 ron or vpower kesa unleaded... i just dont know if its really "sulit" for the price you pay. dati vpower gamit ko, then switch back to unleaded kasi parang sobrang mahal ng vpower for me.
