Hmm may question ako... i was just browsing the manual of my new car, It just caught my attention that unleaded fuel lang pala dapat gamitin dun?! E dahil tatay ko nagpapakarga ng gas sa kotse (Points daw para sa rebate niya sa Petron-BPI) Eh naka-dalawang full tank n siya na blaze ang karga niya and sabi sa manual it can cause problems sa catalytic converter pag leaded fuel ginamit. Should I already have something done to the car? or should I wait till the next refuel and fill up with unleaded fuel from hereon out? thanks.

OT: ganun pre? you mean to say pinapayagan ito ng gobyerno? diba if i remember it right, the Clean Air act prohibits selling and distribution of leaded fuel products.

AFAIK... they just rebrand it as "Premium"... but in fact those are already unleaded products.

Regular yata ang leaded sa probinsya... notice you can only buy "Premium" and "Unleaded" in Manila (strange, considering both are unleaded?)...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

hmmm, very informative. ngayon ko lang nalaman na unleaded din pala ang Premium (Shell).

Mga bossing, anu ba ang counterpart ng Premium (Shell) sa Petron and Caltex?

At bakit hiniwalay pa na me Unleaded kuno as against sa Premium, Silver/Gold etc.?

    Thanks.

Effective ba talaga yung mga high octane fuels like velocity and blaze? i have read in a different forum that it's a just a matter of marketing/ advertising. kumbaga brand name lang yun pero pare-pareho lang daw yun. I have a friend who owns Petron along Marcos Highway who swears that owners/dealers resorts to sharing with other co-dealers pag nauubusan sila ng supply. so puede daw na yung unleaded sa shell ay actually galing yun sa caltex silver (unleaded din).

I don't know if there's really a difference in terms of efficiency and power to your vehicle. Pls. enlighten us experts. Thanks .

hmmm, imho. meron, pero very minimal. there are cars kasi that knock sa lower octanes eh. but generally speaking, loaded or tuned cars would or may require higher octane fuels.

speaking from experience. my previous lancer singkit knocks if i am using the plain unleaded, maski bagong tune-up. kaya i usualy load up before with velocity. my current car just runs well with plain unleaded.
