    bahay - school - sta.lucia - cainta - marikina - san mateo -bahay....

kiper, you must take into consideration that fuel gauges are not 100% accurate. if the fuel gauge points at 3/4 full, hindi ibig sabihin nito e 3/4 full din ang fuel tank mo. sometimes half empty na sya. dati yung galant vr namin from tarlac to manila, di man lang gumalaw yung fuel gauge needle. pero pag nagstart nang gumalaw, ang bilis ng bumaba.

Saka mas malaki ata yung tanke ng pick-up. Hehehe.

Pero hindi mo maaalis ang fact na mahal talaga ang gasolina at you get less kms. per liter out of it.

IMO pareho lang ang typical consumption....diesel na 2.5-2.7L displacement would do 9-11km/L and petrol na 1.3L displacement would be the same. Ang pagkakaiba lang is the cost per liter ng diesel and petrol.

Sa ingay ng diesel...madalas hindi lang naiadjust ng ayos ang mga valve tuppet clearance (unless its ang isuzu engine na lumang model - talagang maingay yun by design). Secondly, most old pick-ups were not properly insulated ang hood at ang engine fire wall. Dahil duon, the vibrations, engine noise and road noise would be very audible even inside the pasenger compartment. If you have a budget, try placing good insulations (like the 3M Flash band or the high tech expensive sound proofing materials) on these areas and you could greatly reduce these vibrations/noise.

Meron pa palang isa, try to see if your exhaust have these "screen mesh" tube (located after the headers and is about 6 to 8" length). These flexible tube controls the vibration kaya hindi gaano maingay ang tambuso....couple it with a good silencer/resonator and the non-straight flow muffler.

All these combined will give you a more quiet diesel...hindi siya kasing tahimik ng modern day petrol (like the civic or city) but will definitely be sounding quieter than before.

    My 2 cents.

There were 3 factors why the diesels were cheaper:
    1. diesel fuel is cheaper
    2. diesel fuel have more energy (btu/voulme) than petrol
    3. diesel engine is more efficient than the gasoline engine

Marami pang pros pero syempre may roon din cons...

Add to that the fact that when all the petroleum in the world runs out, the diesel engine can still be modified to run on cooking oil hehehehe :D :D :D

tumpak!! tama ka dito pajerokid... kaya merong alternative renewable fuel source ang diesel engines. for us in the philippines, it's coconut oil, kaya pag nagkaganon, di na diesel engine ang tawag sa makina natin. coco engine na?!?! kaya ang diesel club, magiging coco club?
