How bout Caltex?

A few months ago, I shifted from Petron Xtra to Shell Super Unleaded E10. Halos pareho lang sa consumptions.

Caltex Gold, mas marami ang miles compared to Silver by .5, hehehe and Caltex is everywhere kaya mas accesible.

before either petron Xtra ako or Total (sa SLEX). Libre kasi 1-liter for every 500pesos na karga. After they stopped the promo, puro Xtra na lang.

    Sayang yung promo na yun.

Tried ko na Shell unleaded pero yung extra miles ko is for walking towards the next gas station. Nung nag petron xtra ako eh talagang may extra miles ako nakukuha.

Before : ordinary mineral oil + Premium (Shell or Petron) = 8.2 km/l
ordinary mineral oil + unleaded (Shell or Petron) = 8.3 km/l
ordinary mineral oil + Blaze or Velocity = 8.1 km/l

Now : fully synthetic mobil 1 gold + premium (shell or petron) = 8.6 km/l
fully synthetic mobil 1 gold + unleaded (shell or petron) = 8.8 km/l
    fully synthetic mobil 1 gold + Blaze or Velocity = 8.4 km/l

So lumalabas na the more expensive my oil is, the cheaper my gasoline should be to attain a better mileage.

jimaroquai: You might consider that all the figures you've posted are well within the margin of error that we can experience in normal everyday driving, even in ideal conditions. At least as far as I'm concerned, they're all the same - nasa 8~9km/L rin naman. If it went from 6 km/L to say, 9km/L, then we may be able to "spot the difference".

Caltex Vortex Gold ever since it came out. Then tried Petron Extra Unleaded for about 8 months. And now, for the last 2 tanks full, back to Caltex Gold with Techron.

So far, Extra Unleaded was about 1km/L thriftier than Gold. However, I upgraded to bigger rims and had a route with more traffic at about the same time I switched back to Gold, so I can't fully say Gold is that much less thrifty.
