Thanks.

1.3L engines will run fine on the unleaded fuel... no need for the higher octane variety.

Try using different fuels to see which works best. In my experience Petron XCS is good on both our cars.

Thanks guys, i just thought of getting others opinion kase based on sa mga nababasa ko yung iba nde naniniwala sa fuel efficiency ng idsi but yung iba nagiba ang isip ng gumamit ng mga higher octane?
anyway, isang tanong pa ulit kinocompare ko kc yung honda city vs vios sa makina yung vios sa max torque 122Nm / 4,400 rpm and yung honda 11.8 Kgm / 2800. ibig bang sabihin mas malakas yung vios cmpared sa city? Thanks.

i'm driving a 2.0L Escape, sa experience ko masmaganda ang hatak at sunog ng 93 RON gasoline kaysa sa higher octane-rated ones..

Recommended talaga ang regular unleaded gasoline.. so why don't you stick with that..u

yup...a regular unleaded gasoline will do. in fact, an officemate here who is also driving a honda jazz 1.3, goes by with the 93 RON ng shell.

OT: kiper, sino yung chix sa signature mo?

I use 93 RON, and load 96 occassionally for "birit" or "Italian tune-ups", but I know the iDSi is optimized to run on lower octane fuels (the presence of the extra plugs prevents knocking at low engine speeds).

Oo nga, kiper, I've always wondered myself.... share! :D

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Smaller engines (non-turbo) will not benefit from higher octane fuels because these usually do not detect the quality of fuel these are burning. So using Shell Velocity or similar will just end up emptying your wallet faster and giving no benefit at all.

    ghosthunter is right.
i also use ordinary unleaded gas for my 1.3 cyclone engine for more than 10 years na and it works just fine. just drive safely.

There's no point of using anything other than the cheapest fuel for a dinky 1.3 engine... unless it's a wankel or something...

Don't forget, it's a 1.3Li engines, other than fuel economy, there's no reason why manufacturers would even "tune" it to use expensive fuel. - Kinda defeats the purpose if high octane is required...

The off-the-pants "gain" most people feel with higher octane simply means that the car's timing is advanced a little to accomodate it.

lowest octane rating gasoline that doesn't cause knocking in your engine or better yet check your manual. i drive a bmw325 and a yamaha r1 and use 93 octane gasoline in both of these vehicles and wala naman problema... kasi yun ang nakalagay sa manual. actually recommended nila eh 95ron pero pwede naman daw as low as 89 kaya i use 93 ron na lang.

boyscout is right, as long as it doesn't cause your engine to knock, there is no point in paying extra for higher octane fuels. if you really wanna make sure, do check your manual

use petron xtra unleaded. it's better than shell unleaded based on my experience. my engine knocks when i use shell unleaded but when i switched to petron, nawala na.
