    Pickup Drivers,

Am in a market for a new pick-up. Maybe I will purchase one this week. I have trimmed down my list to Hilux E 2.5 diesel and Dmax LX 4x2 3.0 D.

Does anyone the fuel consumption of the Hilux 2.5D and the Isuzu 3.0D?

Feel free na rin to post fuel consumption of Frontier, Strada and Ranger.

    Thanks.

2002 Frontier 2.7E M/T: 9 km/L city and 13.4 km/L highway Petron Diesel Max. Downside is it's tuned for economy at 84 hp, there's not too much 'GO' with the Frontier...

Jarhead am seriously considering the DMAX. Not sure if it is better to wait for the CRDI version. They say that they might come out with it end of the year? Any news about it?

you may want to email isuzu at sales-planning*isuzuphil.com to ask them their plans for the CRDi version. pero parang wala pang balita eh. personally, i really like the ride of the Dmax and the non CRDi engine should be much more reliable and practical in terms of maintenance. although i haven't driven a hi lux, most say it is very bouncy/matagtag. and the 4x2 dmax has better ride height, mas astig ang tindig. just love the blue one.

i can do 13-14 km/L on combined driving conditions on my 4X2 Dmax. and i agree, iba ang dating nang DMax compared sa HiLux. sure, mas malaki sa dimension ang hilux pero mas rugged ang DMax.

mukhang malabo ata yan thebest... kc thailand is using the iteq(altera) engine for their local use only for the dmax... n the import model like what they r selling here is just the 4jj1 engine... i dont tink they will use the iteq engine kc tataas price ng dmax lalot malaki na import tax nito and hindi na maka compete sa market....

I agree with Jarhead. Mukhang malabo pa this year ang crdi version ng dmax. Besides, Their 4jh1 enginge is still gaining popularity. IMHO, more than enough na ang 130hp for a pick-up. Before nga sa 125 hp ng trooper ko, masaya nako eh. hehe

    Ian,
Manual kasi yung sayo kaya mas matipid! kakainggit!

Djerms, may mas matipid pa. Isuzu Fuego, 2.5D. mga 16-18 Km/L daw. anyways, malaking factor yung may highway driving.

jarhead, tama ka. sa mahal nang krudo, di na praktikal ang masyadong mabilis magpatakbo.

dmax ko as of now, nasa 3/4 full pa but my tripmeter is at around 220km na... tipid noh... and it doesnt need a big HP engine to haul u through anything.. excpet wen ur at racing... tama c djerms.. 130 is enuf for a pick up... malakas naman torque ng dmax and super kaya nya maghaul ng malaking load tlaga with ease... its designed to be a workhorse like the fuego b4 it... kahit 2.5 lng ang fuego but iv seen some with 200k kilomter reading and its stil running...
