    Hello Guys,

Balak ko pong bumili ng new car, (M/T) and ito po ang mga nakita kong pasok sa budget ko. (1st car)

Pag Sunday drive 10-12kms/liter, pag normal day 8 to 10km/liter at pag hi-way 14-15 km/liter ang consumption (MT po ito). Di ako maka comment sa Wigo at Mirage., but if kung ako bibili pa lang maybe Mirage ang kukunin ko (mas matipid daw according to other forum).

I recommend you try test driving your choices.
The driving experience (comfort) might just make the disadvantages seem minor.
Ease of service or maintenance, or casa service performance, might also be considered.

    My opinion...
Just standing still, the i10 seems to be the most comfortable. But I am still wary of Korean maintenance and quality issues, borne out of my Korean experience of 17 years ago..
The mirage seemed to me, offered more creature comforts than the wigo. The mirage was also reported to be more fuel efficient than the wigo. The mirage also had reported starting issues in some units, as amplified in the internet (heck! The internet amplifies just about any negative "feature" in cars now..).
But I got a wigo AT anyway, because... It's a Toyota (for whatever real or perceived advantages that would imply), and also because I could not find any internet wigo issues..

After 1-2 years, I will re-evaluate matters and change cars if I feel it is worth the change..

I actually went to the casa, intending to buy an innova.. But there was this minicar selling for half the innova's price... and I actually fit in it!... unlike other minicars previously, where I had to be shoehorned in...

since M/T ang pref mo, i'd get Wigo, then use the saved money for gas, at papasyal ako ng south luzon loop, then north luzon loop.

When I bought my mirage, it was still a toss up between mirage glx mt and wigo g mt up until the last day.

    Reasons I bought the mirage:
The looks of mirage is better. Very subjective subject though.
    FC.
Mirage is already 2 years old, compared to wigo which is new. Read: you will have a more general idea of the maintenance cost and issues compared to being the first one to experience it.
Since mirage is 2 years old, you will have more accessories and parts to choose from
    1.2 engine vs 1.0 engine
30K discount compared to none for the wigo (note: this 30K bought me insurance since I paid in cash, accessories, rustproofing with ziebart) - if every I bought the wigo, I think I will also shell more or less the same amount
4 stock speakers compared to 2
supposed waiting time for the wigo g
mirage gray mica was available just after 2 days
although wigo feels more spacious, i felt that it just reduced the amount of area between the passengers and the door panels. Avanza is the closest thing i can think of as an analogy.

Some thoughts about my mirage glx
    - soft clutch
    - very light steering.
    - nvh is so so.
    - comes with steel rims with hubcaps. not really a deal breaker for me though.
    - you come in contact with the knees of your passenger while shifting to 5th gear.
    - averages 8-12 Km/l city driving. Full tank method yields 300km per 25 liters. Need to test it more in the highway though so no data for highway fc.
    - Can get up to speed very fast.
    - 91 ron is the minimum fuel rating
    - no abs. Not a deal breaker fror me. At this price range, I wasnt expecting any. Plus, before mirage, I am driving a 20 year old car without any abs or other high tech fancy stuffs. I am not discounting the benefits of abs but my motto is if you learn how to drive without relying on added stuffs, then it can lead you to become a better driver.

Up front, the wigo has more to offer (mags, abs, gps reads navi, etc). But I chose mirage because of the above reasons.
    HTH. Happy hunting.

Whichever car you choose, I think you will be happy anyway.

When I chose the wigo, my agent informed me that there was a 6 week waiting time. I don't know if he was salestalking me or not, but I said I don't mind the wait. I have other vehicles to use, and he knows it.. Aba! 3 days later, he calls to say a unit for me had arrived.. That I better get it out soonest, as many of the agents were eyeing it.. When I walked thru the bodega, indeed, I saw only two wigos, against a dozen each, of the other models.. The stickers in my car say it arrived in the country August 18, and I got it 10 days later.
If that long waiting time is true, then it might explain why there are few seen on the road..
    I haven't done even 300km yet, so I can't say too much feedback ...

Resale value? I am confident I can sell it later for a good price.. There seems to be a shift into smaller cars now because of fuel costs.. The cheaper the car, the easier to sell..

Btw, after driving vans and innovas for many years, I enjoy this small car's ease of maneuverability and parking!

You don't like the vios? The price difference is too small - but you get a full subcompact vs a microcar. Microcars are nice for going around nearby places within the city but I'd be wary of potholes and road defects. Consider also that you might go for a long drive. Cars this small are a pain in the back (because of the short and super stiff suspension).

I also noticed that these cars are rather narrow BUT high. A formula for disaster in sudden maneuvers so check which of these can withstand sudden turns at speed (like the moose test).

Good luck car shopping. Honestly, If I have your budget, I'd save more instead of settling for these (since it's your first car). Are you a dad like me or are you single? Getting married/having children soon? You should also consider those.

It's the 1KR-FE... same as in the Toyota Aygo. Don't know if it's being assembled in Indonesia, but I wouldn't fret about it too much if it were.

your two choices are ok for me. wala akong pintas. just as wala rin akong pintas sa kumpetensiya..corolla.. vios..sentra..lancer..
just the usual universal issues of previous owner maintenance and carnap (!) history..

it is nice to start learning how to drive using a brand new car, so as not to be distracted by malfunction issues of a used car.. but then, that's your call.
    happy learning.
