i think the cefiro would be less expensive 2nd hand than the camry and would have the same or better features kaya cefiro na ako ..

More parts available for the Cefiro over the old Camry as this model was more popular... if it's the Elite version with the plastic headlamps na check the electrical parts like the power windows, door locks, and antenna if they're functioning properly.

I suggest casa, Mantrade and Commonwealth ang usual recommended ng mga taga nissan bayan... I personally go to Mantrade...

Di naman mahal sa casa actually, esp if may sale ng parts like right now afaik may sale mga pyesa ng cefiro...

But the camry is a good choice din, engine wise parehas lang ata sa Corona/RAV4

Theveed, the Camry '00 has a 2.2L engine (i dunno lang kung pareho pyesa sa 2.0 Corona and old Rav)

You can still go to the CASA for major maintainance services (every 20,000kms usually) then go to your regular talyer for the 5,000 change oil job.

Before you buy it make sure you have a good condition unit coz kung may sakit yan, masakit sa bulsa din (you also have to load 95 octane sa Cefiro). When you test drive, listen for any signs of "tope"/detonation, check the underchassis, check engine (under) for any leaks, observe the idling, etc.

mmmhm... 01 Cefiro... that 2.0 V6 is still one of the best and quietest engines ever made. :D ...and the car's not bad either.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

yup sir Theveed, 2.0L po yung Corona at gen1 Rav4...gen2 Rav4 is still 2.0L but with VVti with a choice of 1.8L also.

Nissan Cefiro's VQ engine is one of Ward's 10 Best engine for almost a decade running.

    Na-change engine perhaps?

They look pretty similar though (yung sa Camry na 2.2 and Corona na 2.0) if memory serves me right.

hindi pare, stock na stock sobrang alaga... tapos 2.0 yung nakalagay sa sticker sa hood... hmm... we're talking about the camry na mukang aircon louver ang grill ha, not the current one...

Anyway, can't go wrong with either choice, both are good family cars that have solid reputations.

    True.

My Tito is still very happy with his '97 Camry. Our '99 Cefiro Elite was sold before to Nissan Gallery on an x-deal (with 70K+ on the odo) and up to now gamit pa rin ng isang manager nila.

Resale value of Nissans are a bit lower than Toyotas...
Aside from the brand image, the Cefiro seems to be the better car between the two.
Ever since the boxy Camry was launched here, I always thought it looked bland and underpowered(129hp) for a 2.2 liter car.

Corona 2.2? or you mean 2.0?

I believe the Corona had a 2.0 liter engine.

    Engine model: 3S-FE
    Type: inline-4 DOHC 16-valves, EFI
    Displacement: 1998 cc
    Bore & Stroke: 86 mm X 86 mm
    Compression ratio to 1: 9.5
    Max. Output: 126 hp * 5600 rpm
    Max. Torque: 177 Nm * 4400 rpm

    Camry 2.2
    Engine model: 5S-FE
    Type: inline-4 DOHC 16-valves, EFI
    Displacement: 2164 cc
    Bore & Stroke: 87 mm X 91 mm
    Compression ratio to 1: 9.8
    Max. Output: 129 hp * 5200 rpm
    Max. Torque: 198 Nm * 4200 rpm

Never knew there was a Camry 2.0 here, maybe it was an imported model?
Could it have been a Toyota Corona Premio?

I think some of these were sold here through the gray market after Toyota replaced the Corona with the Camry in the local mid-size segment.
