March 25th, 2006 04:23 PM #1Im planning to buy a 2nd hand (great condition) Nissan Xtrail 2004(august) 250X 4x4 from a good friend for P900K. Nissan Xtrail has been Japans best SUV for 2004 and 2005 with good reviews but Im really in love with the Toyota Fortuner's look. Im not sure about the features ( suspension, and interior plus the fact that its only got front disc brakes and drum rears). If you were in my position, what would you choose? I need your suggestions guys. Considering the price of a 2nd hand great condition xtrail and a brand new fortuner is P1.3-1.6K. Thanks guys. I need you insights.

X-trail owner here
fuel consumption will be between 6-8km/li on the city, 9-12km/li on the highway. Acceleration is good, airconditioning system is pretty cool however walang aircon vent for the rear passengers so thats a minus. Center mounted dash is subjective either you love it or hate it. Interior is mostly plastic so again it is subjective (it gets easily scratched). Spare tire placed under the rear compartment floor so this keeps your spare tire nice and dry also secure from theft. Overall drive is nice, engine is smooth, max speed is 180kph due to the speedlimiter. Loads of space at the compartment. Overall a nice car to drive.

March 25th, 2006 06:26 PM #5The X-trail is a good SUV pero the Fortuner is still the better choice.

Looks is not a good reason to get the Fortuner, 'coz it's a lot more expensive than your friend's 2nd Hand X-Trail. You should justify the difference in price with your possible need for the following:
- Space for 7-8 people.
- Better fuel consumption and lower fuel cost (if you get D4-D).
- Body on ladder-frame.
- A brand new vehicle.

Medyo issue if you ask me, lalo na kung walang maayos na parking yung sasakyan. Hehe, parang ang tagal magcirculate ng hangin, minsan naman weird, mas malamig sa harap kaysa sa likod, ewan ko kung bakit.

March 26th, 2006 01:03 AM #9But then an X-Trail probably is a better drive than the Fortuner. Well damped suspension set-up, car-like handling, strong engine and more practical and sophisticated 4WD. Plus, with that acquisition cost you've been offered, it's half the price of Fortuner. X-Trail's design IMO still works in a modern and latest way.

March 26th, 2006 01:16 AM #10The X-Trail isn't really big enough for that to be an issue, or is it?
