    No brainer..... Altis syempre dahil:
    - mas bago modelo
    - malakas sa gas mazda 3
    - masikip likod/back seat ng mazda 3
    - mas mataas resale value ng Altis

How about a Civic FD of the same age as another option? It will have the sportiness of a Mazda3 with a good interior space like an Altis.

*Marco Bone - if you want something with very good fuel efficiency coupled with performance, you can also check out the Ford Focus TDCi. Its 2.0L turbo diesel engine is no slouch in terms of output (power/torque) yet yields 12-15 km/L fuel consumption. It drives well but its interior is a bit cramped like the Mazda3.

    Mazda 3:

    Pros
    - looks good
    - A/T only
    - engine performance is better, imho.
    - sarap pormahan.
    Cons
    - anlakas sa gas
    - marupok ang pangilalim
    - lower resale value

    Altis
    Pros
    - comfortable to drive.
    - bigger
    - plenty of parts
    - good FC
    Cons
    - dami mong kapareho
    - watch out for the engine sludge issue.
    - hirap pormahan.

I suggest toyota no headaches. Focus tdci should be avoided like AIDS. More if it has the powershi$# transmission. Unless you have a deep pocket to replace the whole thing when it acts up

Pareho lng sila imaintain. Periodic fluid changes. Air filter price difference shouldnt be too bad. If the ac compressor or alternator fail on both. Toyota might have a cost advantage but not much. Same range sa labor cost outside casa.

Toyota still cheaper to maintain. Try asking for price of the power steering of mazda.
