just wanted to ask you people what can you say about mazda 323 glxi 98 a/t, is it a better car than the city 1997

very good suspension.

okay, mejo mas matakaw siya, but i think pwede mareprogram ECU niya to latin spec which consumes less gas but still gives good pulling power.

i miss our glxi.

try to look out for signs of rusting lang nga, especially sa rear fenders. ask them as well if they do regular rustproofing on it. :D

I'll go for the Familia GLXi renaldi, but manual transmission.
Some things you should check:
- Tama si nugundam93 sa rear rust sa fender, dapat regular rustproofing
- Check for engine leaks, gaskets, etc
- Ung sa power steering hose/pump leaks (dapat na lagyan na nang repair kit if may leak na sya)

- And ung over all maintenance nung car, and if may mga bangga na ba, etc.
- Papers nung car OR/CR

Pogi yang Familia! and ung the Protege Tech (www.protegetech.org) club can help you din if you will be looking for parts and mods. Usually sa autorama/ford land sa banawe maraming parts.

mazda din ako. ano disadvantage ng matic? for one it guzzles gas more than the manual type. pangalawa, may additional maintenance like regular atf replacements.

as much as possible... stay away from an a/t 323... fuel consumption is around 6km/L compared to the 8-9km/L of the m/t variant.

i could say that while the a/t glxi isn't sir-fast, it does give you neck-snapping moments pag hinataw.

trust me, lalo na kung school mo eh just 4km away and you leave before your class 5 mins before the time, you test both the gas pedal and the abs on it. :lol:

kung speed, space and sturdier platform hanap mo, definitely familia. lakas hatak nito, ganda handling (medyo matagtag nga lang), and amenities galore! and its one of the best 'value for money' in terms of 2nd hand purchase. tibay din ng makina nyan.

kung fuel efficiency, brand image, and hmmm what else ba?...go for the city. hehe

pwede, but only for a couple of meters, 400m ata. i forgot exactly why, i hope the others can answer.

but rest assured, as long as well maintained siya, lalo na sa regular changes ng a/t fluid, it'll serve you well. :D

verify mo din sa previous owner kung napalitan na engine supports. i had to replace the engine supports 2 months after i bought my familia glxi. also had to replace the brake master.

97 model pero purchased new back in 99

sakin matic. i get about 6 km/l mix of tipid driving and spirited driving. sa engine, i never had any problems. worst problem i had was tumotope. a change of spark plugs solved it.

sa suspension, shocks and stab link pa lang napapalitan ko.

a/c is still ice cold (never been cleaned yet)

only problem this car is giving me is the rust in the right rear fender

glx = glxi (well almost)

sa gen 2 (1995 to 1997), glx ang high-end variant.

sa gen 2.5 (1997 to 1999), glxi ang high-end variant. only difference is the airbag afaik.

yung glx was the top of the line model until mid-1997. then lumabas yung 1997 1/2 familia kung san ginawa na nilang glxi yung top of the line. face lifted lang yung glxi. other than that, pareho lahat.
