With 30k discount that would be 1.387M for the Hilux. 3 years LTO and TPL will not cost 87k. Not to mention that the facelifted Strada has just been released, with all those additional features as previously mentioned.

For Strada, 3 years LTO and TPL + 1st year in-house insurance = 45,822 Pesos. It is still cheaper. On specs Hilux is really beaten very badly. It comes down to after market service and parts availability.

Thank you guys appreciate your input. I like the looks of Strada, the wifey prefers the Hilux. so we need a third vote to decide... hehe

IMHO, it depends on how you will use the ute longterm. if for business and work (hauling and the likes), I'll go with the hilux as it has stiffer rear suspension, also, aftersales service & support are abundant. If used mostly on-road and ferrying passengers, probably the strada will suit these needs

That is a price difference of 42k. For me, that is a year's worth of diesel for my Santa Fe. I don't think you will have problem with parts for both vehicles, since both are strong sellers, even more so for their respective SUV counterparts. Mechanics will also be very familiar with them by now.

IMHO the Hilux is what I would consider if I were looking for a workhorse vehicle. Variants like the work oriented 15 seater FX and the 2.4E 4x4 appeal to me. But for lifestyle options, I believe the Strada is the better choice.
