Honda City 2001 1.5L VTI, Civic 98 VTi up -Need some advice..

Hello Guys,

I'm a newbie here, although I've been browsing the forum for 2months now. Dami ko natutunan sa mga forum threads. I am planning to buy a second hand car and I've norrowed my choices to 2 model types of Honda.

I'm an OFW at magbabakasyon ako sa pinas and I want to buy a second hand car na gagamitin ko while I'm there. PLano ko iwan sa father ko pag bumalik na ako sa abroad.

Pang City driving lang and some out of towns, medyo matipid, kasi pag iniwan ko sigurado sa akin hihingi pang gasolina erpats ko. Budget ko is 250T - 300T max..

Honda City 2000 up 1.5 VTI M/T
Honda Civic 98 up VTi M/T

Need some advice kung san mas maganda. Kakayanin kaya budget ko yan? Mga after 4months pa naman uwi ko. I would appreciate din kung meron kayong ibang car brand na pwedeng irrecommend na mas maganda sa 2 nabanggit ko.

The Civic VTi is better, definitely. More options, more space. Drives better, too. Medyo maliit ang City, being based on the older Civic platform.

And there's no tales of VTi rust, yet. Only disadvantage is, the VTi is older, and that counts a bit in wear and tear damage. And it won't be as fuel efficient.

At 250-300k, you can get in a lot of other cars. Just depends on what you want.

Really appreciate your expert advice. I've been considering other car brand such as Nissan, Mitsu and Toyota's. One factor kasi thats why I want Honda is the high resale value compare to other brands. At tingin ko mas mabilis mabenta later on.

Bebenta ko rin uli kasi after a year siguro and get a brand new pag settle ko sa pinas.

Yes, I did..

I end up buying 98 Lxi though I quite satisfy kasi City Drive and little out of town lang naman. Been using it for a year now and ilang beses ko naring niakyat sa Baguio.

Have used it for my last 2 vacation already and its still runs good. Walang kahit anong kalampag..

Planning to sell it next vacation ko siguro and buy a newer model car.
