fuel consumption and durability ng engine and Body??

I would recommend the Corolla love body, not the Vios because it's too small. Pwede din siguro Hyundai Accent kse available na sya in CRDi. Definitly not a Kia.

if you want the space of a "compact" car, then your choices maybe:
gas fed => nissan sentra 1.3gx = cost less than 600k
diesel fed => hyundia matrix 1.5crdi = cost less than 700k

maganda spacing ng Sentra 1.3gx. Not too crowded kahit fully loaded ng passenger. Also, it has a wide trunk to go along with, kaya no hussle sa mga baggages. Plus of course, people knows na pag Nissan, a/c is supercool.

Vios is relatively small pero gas consumption is something you can look up to.

Mas maganda pa ang body ng Corolla XE/XL (lovelife) for a taxi.

salamat sa mga reply...but what if 2nd hand na 99 or 01 model...and until kelan pa kaya yung franchise nya?? di ko kasi kaya bnew...not unless my mga hulugan sila and cater din nila na yung franchise and meter...

parang dumadami nga ung taxing Sentra GX. no idea about gas consumption though, some early theories say it wouldn't be that good, given the heavy body and (relatively) puny engine. malaki lang nga siya kesa vios or maybe even a lovelife.

piyesa ang advantage ng lovelife imho. sa sheer volume lang ng lovelife taxis, shops are bound to stock up (andkeep on stocking up) on parts for years to come.

kia prides are surprisingly spacious inside, i know, i own 1...lovelife body is a good choice too... sentras are good too...but between the 2, 1.3Lmanual pride sedan(gtx) pipiliin ko:

spacious, ok but deep trunk, parts are widely available, and far cheaper sa japanese, although its korean, you can swap things from a 323 here....powersteering is optional, but havving one is definetly a BIG plus especially when manuevering, which a taxi should be....

1.3L on a lighter pride is more than enough than the 1.3L on a bigger,heavier lovelife corolla, much more sa bigger body ng sentra na parang bitin ka sa lakas....this translates also na masmatipid ang kia sa consumption....

regardless kung ano kotse bibilhin mo, importante tignan mo iyun budget kung magkano kakayanan ng bulsa mo... inquire ka din sa ltfrb kung may franchise pa available usually kapag bago ang kotse... or kung may kilala ka pwede makikabit... isa pa ingat sa pag bili ng 2nd hand na taxi, kadalasan kundi bulok ang sasakyan eh iyun prakisa ay expire or binenta na at ibebenta ulit sa iyo... "tandaan walang manloloko kung walang nagpapaloko..."

salamat sa mga replies....im thinking of getting a kia..na di sana laspag...or a toyota na GLi/XL/corrola na 97 pataas...kanina kasi may tinignan ako na kia..grabe ..parang inasemble lang para mabuo at pinaandar ang engine...

budgeted lang kasi ko at need ko magtira pangpaganda para dami sumakay...gusto ko din sana mitsu..kaso madalang bentahan ng mitsu taxi..

kasi sakin...kung di mukang laspag ang loob(upholstery)...ibig sabhin..maalaga ang nagamit..then i check the engine..then the paint..if bago lang(na tinakpan yung mga tama at bulok) pintura.

about sa franchise...meron ba kayo tips on how to check or may kilala kayo from LTFRB na pwede ipa check ang mga franchise?

and another thing...alam nyo ba if pwede pa ma-renew ang franchise ng 95model pataas?? at kung hanggang ilang taon nalang??dipa kasi ready yung website ng LTFRb eh)...
