May 4th, 2007 02:48 AM #1is it true na malaki ang difference ng 94 model super saloon kaysa sa V6 model nito when Gas consumption is involved? or is it almost the same? would you still recommend a V6 instead. I would really appreciate your feed backs Thnx

I'd definitely recommend the V6... fuel consumption won't be far off. Unless you plan to do some serious mods like an engine swap.

Galant V6 owner here, I get 6-7km/l city, 12-13 kmpl hway.
Fuel consumption = more or less 2km/l... a few pesos...
Ngiti sa mukha mo pag humataw na = priceless...

kung gen.7(rayban) galant pinaguusapan, ang v6 na galant is also 2.0! pero eto ang major difference->
vr-v6 is 2.0 24-valve DOHC(alam ko DOHC siya..correction please), 6A12...
ang vr/SS 2.0 is 4g63 non-turbo, SOHC 16valve..
kaya lang nasasabing matakaw ang 2.0V6 kasi common notion is 6 is greater/more than 4.. at siyempre mas masarap i-hataw ang v6, iba ang hatak nun than I-4...
kaya->i second sanake_v6's motion.. but get the rare in the used car market na manual tranny, save ka sa sakit ng ulo!kahit ss pa kunin mo...

Yup, iba hatak ng V6 compared sa inline 4. Para kang tinutulak sa sandalan mo...plus the sound of the engine, dual tip exhaust. Parang iba rin ang dating ng kaha ng V6 sa SS eh, o imagination ko lang yun? Only downside is that it's not that easy to find a mechanic courageous/competent enough to tinker with your engine. Hirap din mag DIY ng spark plug change, but I still DIY mine.

Mine is a galant vr4 A/T, I enjoy driving automatic cars because I always arrive to my destination smelling good. I used to drive a manual tranny car, and it gets me all roughed-up every time I drive to work, and my arm pits are dripping with sweat from all that fiddling with the gear-shift stick. Thank God for automatic trannys!

My car aircon makes my car a mobile freezer, I just sweat a lot I guess... I would still not trade-in my A/T galant for an M/T, especially with all the traffic I encounter on a daily basis. I also did not find my car to be a gas-guzzler, because a friend of mine drives a mazda 323, when we compared notes on gas consumption for evey kilometer, he was even amazed at why my car seems to be out performing his in terms of fuel economy. In fact after he learned of my cars fuel efficiency, he's now in the market looking for a galant just like mine.

August 10th, 2007 09:14 AM #10Owner of a Galant SS automatic (7th gen rayban). Bought it brand new in '97. I used to get 7-8km/l gas mileage on mixed city and highway driving but now after 10years I am getting bet 6-7km/l. Am absolutely happy with the Galant. It's engine is just 4cyl and generates 130HP of power but it is more than adequate for me. No problem at all overtaking on steep inclines going to Baguio or Tagaytay. I can vouch for this cars durability. I have already clocked almost 190,000km and its still going. I have since then bought a FORT for my daily commute but I still love driving the Galant. Just recently had it stripped to metal and repainted in the new Civic Habanero red color. Parang bago na ulit.
