The Starex non crdi grx svx AT 2004 churns out 100 hp. It has turbo intercooler (older Starex has 85 hp).

Toyota's Innova D4d diesel engine has 102 hp.

Both has the same curb weight of 1620 kg. (Motioncar)

Since both have almost similar engine horsepower, can we conclude that in terms of acceleration and speed, both should also perform similarly?

Can you please post your experiences about these 2 vehicles.

I drive a 2004 TCi GRX AT Starex. My sister owns a 2006 Innova D4D.

I can easily fit 9-10 people in our van, with lots of cargo space. Innova 7-8 with very little cargo space.

We drove up to Baguio last January. We were together all the time. We were 9 in the Starex; six in their Innova.

From Metro Manila to Baguio - coming from full tanks,- fuel left in our Starex 3/8; in the Innova 5/8..

Thanks sir cvt. The Starex wins in space and the Innova in fuel consumtion.

Can you give comment on the acceleration and top speed of the 2 vehicles since both have the same horsepower?

The Innova is probably faster. Horespower is just one number the important thing is POWER/WEIGHT ratio. Torque is another important number especially with vans like the Starex.

In terms of the engine's car reliability, alin po kaya sa dalawa ang mas reliable? Can you please share your experience. I know for a fact that toyota parts are easy to find than starex.

Kung terms of reliability, mas reliable ang sa Starex. Never had issues of stalling and choking unlike the D-4D of Toyota (there's a thread here about that particular problem.... D-4D woes thread).
