assembled or "made" in india from parts from all over the world. no one's saying they're made in germany just like your typical japanese honda city is assembled right here in PH

I think only the Polo is made in India. The Jetta and Golf TDI models come from Mexico. The Golf Caddy is made in Poland. The Golf GTi, Passat 2.0T, CC, and Touareg are made in Germany.

Applies to either turbo gas or turbo diesel engines. There will be some difference with regards to tranny fluid maintenance as the Polo uses a traditional 6-speed AT compared to most local VW vehicles which has a 7-speed DSG/DCT tranny.
