Im contemplating if I should sell my 96 corona exsior with 16" rims, M/T, mileage 88Tkm.Color is Dark blue. Im the first owner. Wala po siyang diperesiya, malamig ang A/C, all stock except the rims (pwede pa nga ibalik yung orid dahil nasa kin pa). Yun nga lang dahil 10 yrs old na parang di nako kampante dahil baka maglabasan in the near new future. Vios, city, getz or any small na matipid na car.

Need your opinions guys.

sentra is a good option for that price... toyota/honda is way off kung 03-04....mga 200 sta exalta -2002 exlata grandeur sulit ka....wag ka padala sa selling price ng used nissan, thats they are..but doesnt mean they're not good...89 nissan maxima owner ako, and still in its 120 thou kms, it serves me/us well....

toyota/honda, pero ung mga 1.3L low end models..unlike pa nissan, a level higher...

Personally, I dont like second hand cars unless I know exactly who and how the car in question has been used and maintained.

Assuming your wife can drive a manual trans. the ff are good economical (in terms of price and fuel consumption) choices.

a.) 20kms ang distance traveled mo daily
b.) 25 days mo gagamitin ung kotse per month
    d.) fuel consumption
    mazda/sentra - 6kms/li
    jazz/vios/city - 15kms/li

based sa computation ko 25k-30k lang ang matitipid mo sa gas sa 1st year.... sa 2nd year 35k-40k ang matitipid....sa 3rd year 45k-50k ang matitipid....after 3 years pag nitotal mo yan, nasa 100k-120k lng natipid mo.... kung nsa 6kms/li lang din ung fuel consumption ng corona eh di sa corona lng ako...mas malakas at maporma pa

pag binenta mo yang corona ng 200k, you need to shell out 350k-400k para makabili ng vios/city/jazz....ung 350k-400k eh ang laking bagay na nun....mga 10years bago mo mabawi....

kya dapat more than 10 years mo gamitin ung new car otherwise hindi sulit....

these is one of the reasons why we still keep the maxima...and since mahal ang gas, at lumalaklak ito ng gas, its a good reliever/emergency car...

I used to average 7 to 8kms/ltr sa city and 10 plus sa hiway. Yung 94 corolla gli ko nakaka 7kms lang. Both are a/t by the way. Kaya compact cars na 1.6 to 2.0 hindi rin ganun katipid for me.Mag SUV ka nalang ganun din fuel consumption

My rig is ten years old. It has proven itself reliable.

The Corona is a good executive class sedan. If it has served you well, why get rid of it? I don't think you'd be shelling out any more than Php100k/year for repairs or maintenance on the Corona.

And I don't think a compact sedan will still have the same street cred as the Exsior when it too is 10 years old.

But hey you always come out a better and more experienced person.

I'd lean towards selling it and then upgrading to an 04-05 model Altis, Civic, Vios or City/Jazz (depende na on what's the best deal you can find on the 2nd hand car market); even if these are second hand, the chances for repair headaches are still minimal given the cars are still fairly new.

Don't sell your car for trade in or to a Buy and Sell... just take the time to advertise it and i'm sure someone will come along. It's a big plus factor that you're the 1st owner of the Corona.

If you will sell your car and buy a new car to replace it. If you buy a used car to replace it you will end up with a vehicle who's maintenance history you are not familiar with. But, if you keep your current car you at least know how well you have maintained it and if you maintained it well then you have nothing to worry about. That's why selling a used car to buy another used car does not make sense. However, if you buy a new car the added cost will be more than what your possible maintenance expense is on your current car. As mentioned earlier you will probably have to put in another +/-400K for the new car. Based on the current condition of your car, do you see yourself spending another 200-250K in maintenance(excluding oil changes) over the next 5 years? If you answer yes then get another car just make sure if you get a used car it won't cost you more to maintain it than your current car.

Btw, just for clarification (I get lots of questions regarding this). Buy and Sell free ads paper is not only for buy and sell agents. A lot of the vehicles there are being sold by private parties also.
