The price is for the US not the Philippines with the taxes at which point you will have to multiply by two then you might be able to buy the M3.

    Multiply by two?

Then how much duty of a new cars imported from outside the Philippines economic zone? I know that car manufacturing importer are paying small amount of export tariffs from thier perspective country so they have no reason to double the price to be sold outside thier economic area.

    Please, educate me about this.

The 350Z sells for Php3.5M using an exchange rate of 40=1 that's $87,500, a 45=1 exchange rate still has it at $77,000. The Murano sells for about the same price of Php3M. Both models can be bought in the US for high 20's to mid 30's depending on how you negotiate your price you could even get it for below dealers invoice price from the factory and not MSRP. Now show me anyone in the US that will pay $60,000 for a 350Z or Murano. In the Philippines there is no price negotiation you just get alleged freebies(which unless you pay cash really isn't free since you'll pay for it in interest) and pay the MSRP. The prices double because shipping and taxes with emphasis on taxes. The same thing happens when you try to ship your vehicle to the Philippines they will calculate the value not on current bluebook value but the value of when it was new and tax it until it cost double/triple of it's current value. The taxes promote vehicles built in the Philippines and not those imported by making those made in the Philippines much more affordable.

And you had to dig up a three month dead thread to say that?

For 4 million or under, the choices on the market aren't that big, but there are lots of choices...

    Mazda Miata (1.9)
    Mitsubishi Eclipse (over 2m)
    Nissan 350Z (over 3m)

    Gray market:
Mazdaspeed3 - just over 2m - most maintenance can be done at Mazda or by Mazda specialists... bespoke parts (engine - transmission - clutch) will have to come from overseas. Bespoke suspension parts? Go aftermarket.

Mini Cooper John Cooper Works - around 2.5m - there's a small community of owners here who may have links to parts suppliers.

Honda Civic Si - should be around 2m - Easy enough to service, again, except for the engine and clutch parts. Again, suspension, go aftermarket.

Ford Mustang - should be between 2-3m - Ford should be able to maintain the motor, but most other parts have to be brought in from the US.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
