diesel 4x4 montero or fortuner? i need your suggestions

Guys i need your suggestions

we are planning to buy a nice SUV next week and we are confused which diesel 4x4 is better

diesel 4x4 fortuner
diesel 4x4 montero GLS SE

1. pamasok ko sa school from laguna to las piñas
2. pang binata
3. pang city driving at travel kc pupunta sa rin kme visayas
4. pang chix/barkada
5. easy to drive and comfortable

parang mas bagay sayo montero...suggestion lang...if hindi mo naman iniisip gas...mas bagay ata sayo subaru forester...

Oo nga pang barkada? Pang Chix? Pang eskwela parang hindi 4X4 kailangan mo. At parang hindi Fortuner/Montero ang dapat...

The Forester seems to be a good choice!

Rugged Sophistication - Montero Sport....

both SUV's are good....its just up to the driver on how you will carry it...


just make sure your gonna roll with 20's or 22's if you want to use it as a magnet....

balita ko panget daw diesel ng toyota eh, wla nmn variant na 4x4 ang fortuner na gas

gus2 ko kasi pumorma sa school namin dhil maraming chix kaso ndi yata mahahalata pag ung fort 2009 binili kc halos pareparehas ung mga fort onti lang pinag bago sa exterior

PERFECT suggestion Horsepower. Yep the Kia Sorento, very classy, very macho, superior diesel engine compared to the Fort and Montero and since crossover mas maganda ang ride quality so the chix will appreciate that. Cost P100K more though than the 4X4 version of the Fort/MS...

18 palang me nid ko ung suv na pang chix at pang barkada nde madaling masira at mgnda customize nde na buga ng itim na usok

well there's no perfect vehicle....

its upto you to liveby with the shortcomings of each....

i'll list up to u some of them....

1. Fortuner:
** carnap magnet?
** heavy and huge, not so ideal for city driving, ur better off with a smaller car like the Jazz if that is your primary purpose? but if u need an all rounder. then yes a big gas guzzling SUV is ok...
** many complained of the 2.5li D4D...and much less with the 3.0li D4D so probably yun na lang piliin mo...
** older ones (before 2008 model) had much stiffer suspension tuning, matalbog daw. pero if u test drive the 2009 model and find it acceptable. then go for it...

2. Montero Sport:
** cheap looking dash plastics.
** cheap looking stereo as well.
** too much steering feedback, kasi di sya "recirculating ball". its using
rack and pinion system....kaya good response but doesn't filter-out some nices that u wouldn't want to feel/hear.


yung iba nag-sasabi 2010Kia Sorento....
diesel maybe the one of the best performing out there....
but reliability wise, its yet to be proven, because its so new, no hard data available. hhhm porma, oh yea. poging pogi 'to. i'm sure chix wouldn't mind getting it and comfy. haha.
** but it will blow your budget off. almost Php2M na sya, ala pa insurance 'yun.
** ride daw, well accdg. to a respected UK website....di daw maganda. pero since its all subjective... u can test drive and decide for yourself if acceptable or not. given that u can pass the price hurdle...

ok siguro ang fortuner pag na-solve na ng toyota ang D4D issues nyan. so far ang ayaw ko sa 3.2 diesel (4M41 engine) montero is tinipid nila ang turbo nito, unlike sa fortuner na naka-variable geometry turbo ang 3.0 diesel nila. might be because bagong labas lang ng mitsubishi dito so, later models na ang mga enhancements. pero on other countries may variable geometry turbo option ang montero sport which pumps out 175hp and even more torque compared to ordinary turbo na 163hp lang on the same 3.2 4M41 engine.

FC,,,,hhhm my guesstimate is around 5-7km/li. of course it all
finally depends on how you drive (do u have a lead foot?) and traffic condition...

saka i-test drive mo na lang. para ikaw makapag-sabi kung matagtag o hindi para sa 'yo.

pero mas prefer ko lng ung facelifted fortuner kac mas na correct nya ung mga pagkukulang ng mga nauna na fortuner.

1. ung aircon dati ng fortuner nasa 3rd row kaya pag tiniklop mo ung 3rd row matatakpan ung aircon. UNG FACELIFTED FORTUNER MERON NA AIRCON SA CEILING NG 2ND ROW ( ABOT PA NG DRIVER, AND MERON DIN AIRCON SA 3RD ROW NASA CEILING NA. ( UNG MONTERO UNG AIRCON NYA KAMUKHA PA DIN NG OLD FORTUNER).

2. UNG HOOD NG FACELIFTED FORTUNER MAY HEAT PROTECTOR NA (not sure sa term cya ung black lining sa likod ng hood

3. mas maluwag ung loob ng fortuner mas comfortable ung 3rd row seat.
and mas marami maiilalagay sa likod if in case may dala ka.

4. mas comfortable na ung ride ng facelifted fortuner ( tip ko syo itest drive mo para maexperience mo)

5.toyota mas madami service center and mas mura mag pa service.

6.and napansin ko lng maski matagal na ung fortuner marami pa din ang bumibili, kya nga sabi ng iba kahit ka saan ka tumingin may fortuner.

Ang masasabi ko lang - there is no perfect car.
Each has its own strengths and weaknesses.

You decide on what is important to you based on the car's strength and weaknesses.

There is no Car that has it all.
It may have the looks and the comfort but does not have the toughness and efficiency that other models have. So, it is a matter of preference na lang.
