I've read HCP's thread regarding this, nakita ko kung paano magisip mga tao dun. They cannot put aside talaga having an SiR despite it being so unpractical.

Hence, I would like to see how the Tsikot world thinks vs. them.

    --

    Situation:

Let's say I have 400k in hand. I really really like the SiR because it's "classic" and a chick magnet. But then, I saw Shadow's CR-V, I was amazed so I thought twice about the SiR.

Now, I am torn between buying my ever-dream Honda SiR or an SUV within 400k ( which are Nissan Safaris, Jimnys, CRVs and RAV4s )

    Condition:

I live alone, I have a girlfriend whose circle of friends are similar as mine. I drive along Espana everyday. The car will be by everyday beater since I have no car in the garage except this.

    Everyday use... hmmm.....

for me its the SUV, or a pick up.

either way, here are my points of view (no offense to SiR owners or SUV owners)

SUV or pickup: (all diesel and all chassis-on-body, no gas and monocoque, im not a fan of those)

    the good:

    the bad:
mas mahal maintenance (change oil, suspension parts[if kaya mong sirain, haha]), mas malaki so mas mahirap imaneuver sa singit singitan ng konti lang naman compared sa SiR, mas mahirap ng onti ipark. mas mabagal kaysa sa SiR.

    SiR:

    The good:
matulin for a compact car, mayabang ang dating, andami mong ka car club na lagi kayong nagyayabangan sa isat isa ng mga mods nyo tuwing nagkikita kayo, mas may dating ng rich kid racer boy, mas mura maintenance.

    the bad,

Id take a pick up any day kahit wala akong gagamitan ng bed. anggwapo eh at practical at matibay. never understood the logic of getting a pickup or a tough 4x4 rig until i was 4th year college, well, i guess it comes with age.

decide on which you really want, then go for whatever that is. Of all things, DONT pretend that you have the best of both worlds. If you have a pickup/suv dont drive it like an SiR, youll wreck your engine and probably roll over :D :D
in the same sense sont buy an SiR and drive it off road :_)

Had an SiR once, Crashed it 4 times, hahaha

one thing i notice about some honda boys though (no offense to anyone) their MODS and their HONDA'S control their attitude and their yabang. Their self identity disappears into their car.

    hope this helps, cheers!

I'll go for the SIR, the CR-V is a bit thirsty. The best part about the SIR is that it really is like having 2 engines in one car. It behaves like a normal Civic vti when driven sedately and can give brisk performance when rev hard.

VTEC yo! every ricer thinks the SiR is made by god himself for the sole purpose of street racing and reving your car in every stop light and putting a loud fart can that makes your car sound like you're going 2,000 km/h but barely goes 100km/h.

Pero niyayabang ng ibang SiR owners na kaya mag-10km/L ang SiR nila. Ho-ho.

Yep medyo rare nga yung Gen 1 MT. Malakas ba sa gas yung A/T nun ?
