Lancer EX GLS - better power, smooth ride even on rough roads, aggressive looks, silky cvt transmission, better prestige. Great car for short trips to the mall or long drives out of town.

Not sure if the 2012 version units are different from the 2011 but the new features I noticed are the cruise control and the faux carbon fiber dashboard & door trims (previously it's the ugly faux wood). I forgot to check if the 2DIN touchscreen HU comes with the GLS or with the MX and up.

City 1.5L is rated at 12 km/L.

Lancer EX (CVT) is rated at 10.5 km/L but some owners can achieve 12km/L or higher on the highway.

Well, I got 8.5km/L when I drove my Lancer EX from Manila to Subic in an hour (normally two hour drive).

Para sa kin tingin ko pag niliitan yung makina ng EX baka ganun din o siguro matipid ng konting konti lang to the point na di na sulit compared to the grin in your face sa 2.0 when needed. Tama lang yung 2.0 sa body and weight IMO.

Gagawin lang nila yan for marketing purposes kasi dami pinoy ignoramus, pag 2.0 takaw daw sa gas.

Kapag ito talaga ang gagamitin, clearly tinatarget ng MMPC ang 1.6L Altis and Elantra, both of which seem to be very successful as far as I can see. Pero 4A92 engine ang ginamit nila... with only 117ps*6000rpm and 154Nm of torque*4000rpm. Which is less than that of the 1.6L Altis and Elantra. And then 4 speed A/T lang ang transmission. Eh ang bigat pa naman ng Lancer.

Diba other markets have the 1.8L 4B10 engine? Di kaya ito ang idadala dito?

Kaya nga eh. At yung engine na yan is only more powerful by 7hp and 13Nm as compared to the old Cedia engine. Sana talaga yung dadalhin nila is the 4B10 with 143ps and 178Nm available in the Taiwanese market.
