Meron ako nakita sa erodriguez white na hatch taxi madaling-araw yun. Nagulat nga ako baka nang-gago lang pero hatch talaga. Kaya napaisip ako maganda gawin pang business ito lalo na pag 12 unit kunin namin. Kasi kakaiba at matipid pa. Mas gusto sakyan ng pasahero kaysa walang kamatayan na vios.
For taxi business? I wouldn't recommend that. Pero kung uber okay lang.

Ang mga naririnig ko sa casa, kaya nasisira kasi hindi talaga inaalagaan ng driver yung turbo. Walang proper cooldown, hinahayaan mag idle habang naka lunch break, natutulog sa loob ng sasakyan ng umaandar, maling langis ginagamit, exceeding regular change oil/filter intervals, di pinapalinis yung EGR. I think ang taxi 60k a year tinatakbo, di pa kasama dun yung idling time.
Walang problema sa fuel efficiency ng Accent. Ang problema yung mga driver na makukuha kung gaano katino.

Mas mahal maintenance compared sa vios na common taxi.
Laspag sa taxi drivers yan. First di nila alam yung cool down ng turbo bago i off ang makina. Since it's a diesel matipid talaga yan may tendency na matulog ang driver diyan leaving the engine idle for long hours. Expect na hataw lagi yan patakbuhin.ng mga driver at pag dumating na sila sa paborito nilang kainan biglang off makina niyan.

Okay I get your point sir Jaggerx. Tama kayo kahit papano mo sabihan yung mga driver, meron talaga matigas ang ulo. Yes I agree the accent CRDI needs an additional step of TLC to keep it running good. So yes tama yung argument ninyo - not recommended for taxi (high mileage use + careless driver) but recommended for Uber (high mileage use + owner/driver).
About the maintenance cost, yep mas mahal kesa Vios but not too prohibitive. Hindi nalalayo sa Hi Ace at common diesels basta wag ipagawa sa casa. I can have the oil changed at less than 2k pesos using Zic oil and OEM oil filter sourced from Goodgear.
Mukang mapapa vios talaga ako.. base sa nabasa ko..

I made a reservation sa 1.6 gl MT DSL sedan accent. I'll use it for Uber / Grab so medyo similar sa taxi. For me, mas gusto ko lang look ng Accent compared sa vios. Konting upgrade lang HU, foglight and wheels, mukhang sosyal na. I'll keep you posted or probably will make a log regarding sa takbo nya. Sana ma release na unit asap
I own a car with similar engine sa 1st gen accent crdi. Now at 260,000kms and close going 12years old. Still on original turbo, orig timing chains, virgin internals and injection pumps. No egr blanking and no OCC, no turbo timer installed. Eto, daily driver ko since matipid sya. 14km/L at diesel pa yun kaya mas mura.
Anyway, bantayan mo lang oil. Laging fully synthetic gamit ko at original oil filter at 7Tkms. Palit orig fuel filter din ako every 10T kms. Let it idle mga 1min before shutting off engine. Palit air filter rin every month. Bnew Air filter for my unit is only 120 pesos.. LOL.
Also planning to buy a Hyundai Accent Sedan to be used as Grab/personal vehicle but in automatic (DCT to be exact). Ive driven this and the vios in both manual and matic. IMHO the accent trumps the vios in terms of fuel efficiency. I grew up with diesel engines so I'm kinda familiar with how they work. I also intend to drive it myself so there would be no issues how the vehicle is run.
