I plan on purchasing either an 04 xtrail (200, 200x or 250x), or an 04 outlander. I dont know much about the outlander. what are the pros and cons of each vehicle? thanks

xtrail 250x, bili ka nalang nung hyper-roof rail para looks new ka!
sarap hataw ng 250x, may 2wd mode pa, kaya di ka obligadong AWD-mode sa city...
may article sa 4x4mag about xtrail, vitara(or was it rav4/pajero io) and this xtrail.
swerte nga tayo at nagka-2.5L tayo, trade-off lng sa JDM na GT-2.0, 280bhp engine...
xtrail parin..

pangit ba talaga yung gen1 outlander? medyo mura kasi siya compared sa same model xtrail, pang practice car lang kasi ni missis at nanghihinayang ako dahil mataas pa yung value nung xtrail. magkano ba mga presyo ng 2004 xtrail 200, 200x at 250x ngayon? yung outlander kasi nasa 470k lang and mukhang good buy, kung sakaling reliable ito, pero wala kasi akong experience or kakilala na merong outlander hehehe

Well, the old Outlander's really weak point is the aging 2.4L engine that they used for it. Other than that it's a pretty decent car.
The X-Trail should continue to hold a high resale value since there hasn't been a replacement model for it yet.

sir, i will be biased towards the xtrail cause i own one.. but if for practice drive lang ng mrs mo, then go for the outlander, sayang naman savings mo, you can use it for other expenses..
but then, if you will use it for a long time and you want your wife to drive an suv with the feel of a sedan, i would advice go for the xtrail..
it wouldn't have been the compact suv of the year for nothing while the outlander, as admitted by mitsu people themselves, was a failure..

thanks guys for the feedbacks, actually the price difference of the outlander and xtrail is not much. The thought just crossed my mind because used outlanders are dirt cheap
.I used to look at escapes before xtrails and i find that the xtrail is way more fun to drive and value for money. I guess im all set to get an xtrail for the wife, but having the patience to wait for a good unit to come along is another thing hehehe

June 21st, 2009 10:37 AM #10I am also de iding on the same thing. Anyone who can comment why the outlander was not able to hold its resale? Even before the gen 2 outlnder came out, medyo mababa na talaga resale nya. Aside from the old engine, any defects that i should be aware of? Or baka overall robot look ang problem?
Thread was made nung 2018 pa po sir.
