CR-V on all your criteria, except probably looks.

The FXT's main selling point is its engine and handling, which you apparently don't care about since wala namang speed or fun factor sa criteria mo.

In fact, based on your criteria, bagay sayo Tucson GLS Premium R-eVGT haha. Matipid, maganda ride, pogi. Good enough resale value (kasi diesel), too. Maintenance is cheaper than a Honda or Subaru, pero ewan ko lang sa parts pag may nasira kasi matagal lagi magdeliver ng parts ang Hyundai.

    1. FC - CRV
    2. Comfort - fxt
    3. maintenance - crv
    4. resale value - crv
    5. looks - subjective but fxt for me
    6. features - crv

if it was me, i would never buy a CRV over an fxt even over the 2.0 forester i'd still pick that over the CRV.

Features to Price ratio: Forester (2.0XS or 2.5XT)

IMO, 2012 CRV's pricing would be have been fair if they added more features or to at least match the features in the Forester.

btw, the Forester's replacement should arrive about late next year, if that should help you decide.

    The Explorer line is loooong.

Thinking outside the box... Sorento CRDi? You can get the MT for just 1.23m. The base AT is still cheaper than either CR-V and XT, and it's nearly as quick as the XT. (more gears kasi).

Very reasonable... but good deals to be found too if you go down pa to the base Stradas, at 875-970k... all the comforts of the Montero Sport minus just two seats.

Thought the Montero Sport was more comfortable than Strada?

driven the Montero 3.0 4x4 for a long trip, Hindi nman sya pala ganun kabigat as others would point out here when comparing the ladder frame strada vs the CRDi crossovers. My daily drive is SF pero I wouldn't mind having a Montero as my alternative car.

Softer and ride ng Montero ha, I was expecting a rugged tagtag feel, pero mas matatag pa ang 4x4. Eddie Bauer explorer namin.

One issue with the Monty is the second row is over the rear tires... which means that while two can sit in the second row comfortably, with three across, the outside two have the wheel wells poking in their backs. Not a problem with the Strada, though the lack of rear seat recline might be an issue for some.

And yes, these two cars ride really well over long distances. Still sort of truckish and jiggly, but soft enough and controlled enough that back seat passengers won't vomit at the next rest stop. They might even be able to sleep back there...
