2003 Mitsubishi Lancer GLX or 99-00 Honda Civic VTI?

both are manual transmission. what is the better car overall?

sa performance at fuel efficiency pareho lang siguro sila kasi parehong 1.6 ung mga makina nila.

sa safety features mas maganda yung lancer kasi may mga airbags ng installed.

ano sa tingin niyo mga ka-tsikot?

some important points:
1. reliability
2. maintenance
3. ride quality
4. build quality

naku maraming mag suggest nyan ng civic vti...

pero kung ako parang mas maganda yung mitsu kasi mas modelo..

kung pizza... patsek na lang ng suspension... kung cedia, medyo parang mas gusto ko...

pero my vote is honda vti by a very slight margin... maganda kasi yung SIR body eh...

Ewan ko, di ko lang type yung looks ng lancer.

And nung nakasakay ako, ang init ng AC !

Anyways, kahit 1 decade na yung VTi, the looks is still there.

Maintenance, okay lang. Hindi kasing cheap ng Toyota siguro, honda kasi e.

Pati naman mitsubishi, may kamahalan ng kaunti yung maintenance.

actually i'm leaning towards the lancer dahil 3 years younger siya at mas bago yung mga features niya. tsaka 2 mitsu kasi ang asa garahe namin, 1999 4x4 strada at 2010 4x4 strada at di pa naman kami binibigo ng mitsubishi so far.

pero no doubt nga na maganda ang styling ng civic, "di naluluma"

Para maiba, lancer ako. Its the first generation Cedia. Ang alam ko, yan yung trim na next sa base model (may GL ata na trim). 3rd Gen kasi yung akin. Basically, same engine and suspension. Ok naman. FC, relatively ok. Depende talaga sa driver yun.

We have a 2004 Lancer GLX.
So far, everything is well. We have changed the servo once.
Handling is okay. Suspension is nice. It rarely bottoms out.
Our AC unit is kinda cold. It depends on the maintenance actually.
Easy to drive. I dunno the exact values but it is fuel efficient.
The interior is simple, but beige, so dust and dirts are upfront.
Just have the interior cleaned.

Just find some which are in good condition.

thanks carlo! actually di naman issue sa akin ang FC kasi pareho silang 1.6 ang makina kaya more or less pareho lang ang FC nila.

i kind of like the unique looks of the cedia / lancer 2003. the civic is sooo commonplace. and i find the lancer just a bit more spacious.

thanks dr. d! medjo common nga sa road ang civic, pero maganda talaga ang styling niya.

dapat talaga civic ang bibilin ko, pero nabigla ako mayroon ng mga 03 lancer glx na pasok sa price range ko

*dale- di pasok sa budget ko yung ford lynx rs eh. ung sentra gx naman 1.3 lang ang engine at medjo maliit(sa tingin ko lang ata?). ung gs naman automatic, mas gusto ko ang manual tranny anyway thanks sa advice!

also, totoo bang mas mabilis ang civic vti kaysa sa lancer glx dahil daw sa vtec? pero pareho namang 1.6 ang mga makina nila.

my vote goes to civic VTi

yung reason ko naman:

the SiR body model dont drop resale value as much as the lancer
mas madali pa rin benta in the future ang model na ito
mas maporma pa rin civic
performance... umm vtec gives more power at higher rev range, i just dont know if it were to go head to head with the lancer.

yung sa 7 years vs the decade old civic, it dont make much difference na for me. it all depends na lang sa pagalaga ng may-ari.
