alam ko may existing thread na for this, but there's just a few details and twists i wanted to add to help me make my decision.

anyway, pinagpipilian ko e ung existing vios or ung bagong city. eto ung mga specific model and price nung pinagpipilian ko:

    vios: 1.3E M/T, P659,000.00
    city: 1.3S M/T, P716,000.00

sa totoo lang, handsdown, city ako. sobrang pogi talga nung bagong city. pero un nga lang, mas mahal ng onti. then someone told me na pagdating sa maintenance, sobrang mas mura sa toyota. is this true? and if it is, is it a big difference?

anyway, kung totoo man un, and i prefer practicality over looks, is it still worth it getting a city? and also, ano ba ibang advantages nung city besides sa sobrang ganda ng itsura nya?

    thanks in advance sa feedbacks!

    - nope.... slight difference lang.

anyway, kung totoo man un, and i prefer practicality over looks, is it still worth it getting a city? and also, ano ba ibang advantages nung city besides sa sobrang ganda ng itsura nya?

    - yes. its bigger, imho. and the body is newer.

nagpunta na ko sa mga showrooms and nasubukan ko na sumakay sa parehong kotse, grabe iba talga ung feeling ng city.

    - if this is the case, altis ako. mas classy tignan (executive look, ika nga...) bigger space too. mas sulit.

    thanks in advance sa feedbacks!

In fact I would even argue that Honda is slightly cheaper than Toyota if you follow the manufacturers recommendation for PMS. Why? Parts siguro mas mahal konti Honda, yung mga usables like oil and oil filter pareho lang yan... Now why is Honda cheaper? Honda requires you to do PMS every 6 months or 10,000km whichever comes first. Toyota requires you to have a PMS every 3 months or 5,000km whichever comes first. In that regard less visists to the CASA less expense... Now if you're going to Banawe for your maintenance then yes lamang Toyota dyan...

problem ko naencounter sa new city is the roofline--when i enter, no matter how low the seat position is, NAUUNTOG AKO!

PRESTIGE-- for me ha, if you prestige, dont look in a japanes or korean car, look at it at those euro--exotics..anyways, il choose the altis, its in the compat category than the sub-compact category of the city.

looks are subjective...city--parang pinaiit na accord na may halong ewan.. ung corolla, well, its a corolla.. ung vios, mukang nija-turtle hehehe...pero ako, i like my dream crossover SUV. that why its subjective

in the end, alam ko di magpapatestdrive mga yan, lalo na toyota!, pero if you have a chance to test drive.. drive it first!

If we're talking 90's 4AFE versus D16... siyempre, mas mahal ang parts nog Honda... mas sophisticated yung engine... but nowadays, the difference isn't that big.

For new Toyotas versus new Hondas, pare-pareho nang mga direct ignition distributorless systems with electronic throttle ang mga kotse... pare-parehong may variable valve timing... pare-parehong mahal ang mga yun.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

unano lang ako 5'7.5... pero di nga nauuntog me sa base ng roof...pag pumapasok lang naman...which is bad kasi kung halimbawa nagmamadali ka, pag nauntog ka, baka ma-delay ka pa lalo...

in my case, unano nga lang ako, so the seat height is set to high.. e normally, would you adjust back the seat height during everyday use? everytime you go out and in?

If i were in your situation, i would definitely get the Honda city 2009.. why? it is a good investment and the new city 2009 will remain its freshness for 5-years until 2014-2015 before Honda will again make a new Honda city 4th Gen in the Philippine soil. If ever u get the low-end altis, only a few difference compared to the city 2009, just save the money and have ur city 2009 set-up.. Good looks, High power for a 1.3Liter engine and you can even add modulo kits if you want it to be more fresh the hook....

Altis, is a higher class compared to the city.. its rivals are the Honda civic, Ford Docus, Mazda 3,..... a different category on that level...

but if your looking betwen the vios and the city, many votes will go with the city, its fresh, styling, sporty, and most of all it depends on your preference...

but for me, i go with the city..... it depends on tastes nalang cguro.... who knows maybe next year may bagong facelift or limitted edtion naman ang vios.. but the Honda city 2009 is the last production, before the 4th Gen arrives in philippine shores that would be between 2014 - 2015... matagal pa bagong mag realese ang Handa... rest assured if you buy the 2009 city you car will be a big-hit for the 1st year until 2014.... hands down ako dito...

Toyota maintenance has the potential to be cheaper down the road because of the abundance of replacement parts.

However keep in mind that not all replacement parts are created equal and a lot will fall below OEM quality to the point of being defective or undurable.

Between the two, I'm for the Vios at the moment.

    Prestige: Definitely the Altis...

Comfort and toys inside the car..Definitely City

For me, if you plan to change cars every 5 years, get the city. But if you plan to hold onto it longer, get the Altis, its very durable

Altis of course...2nd choice would be the all-new city.

Vios vs. New City 09 vs. Altis: Practicality vs. Looks vs. Prestige
