get a corolla GLi big body or lovelife(160k atleast?). its efi, maintenance wise, all power and very fuel efficient. keep it stock. mags and sounds are enough. thus porma does not make you faster than everybody else. estudyante ka diba? pinagdaanan ko yan.

get a clean and unequipped one, kaw na lang magset-up para alam mo

trust me, im also a student, still

    welcome sa tsikot

Get the Corolla tama sila Gli hanapin mo.

As much as possible mas maganda kung all stock mahanap mo.

Ma maintenance ang old car kaya after getting the 120K car magready kana ng pang maintenance like change all fluids oil filter, fuel filter.... also change all the belts, kasama na timing belt set at waterpump.

I would go for the 90's corolla GL. I had one way back then, a very reliable car. Timeless ang porma (IMO). Clear tints lang and a nice set of 15's would do. Sakto yan sa budget mo na 100k. I suggest naman na yung 20k na sobra para pagpapagawa ng mga slight mechanical defects instead of upholstery or setting up the sound system. It's better to drive a worry free car than a aesthetically good looking car that rattles or bugs down every now and then.

or increase your budget furthermore, and get a 9th gen altis which is younger than the previous gens. though there are sludging issues on the 1.6 engine.

just prepare a more or less 50k for repairs and maintenance of whatever car you're getting.

Ano ba guys, 120K nga lang daw eh including repairs.

*TS : I`d get the Corolla AE92 XE. It`ll be appropriate for you, as a student. But it being 2 decade old already, I guess you have to put your porma plans aside first because I tell you 20K may be or may not be enough for repairs ONLY.

Basically, that's it. Unless you want to opt for smaller ones such as Fiat Uno's, Kia Prides which is definitely cheaper but still can be full of repairs. ;)

Tol, limited lang ba sa 1.6 engine ang sludghing issues or more common lang siya kaysa doon sa 1.8 engine?

imho, any engine is prone of sludging. its just that the 3zzfe is designed to have an oil change every 5k km. some users dont follow the pms. this is the clear resolution of the toyota motors why there was no recall regarding the sludging.

as to your question, yup, mas laganap sa 1.6L kesa sa 1.8L considering that there are more(way more) 1.6 (3zzfe) corolla(US)/altis(Phil) than the 1.8L

Since you're still a student, bili ka ng Corolla AE92. It's a very nice classic car if you maintain its clean looks. Should be cheap mga 70-90K lang siguro. Yung matitira, reserve it for the maintenance expenses.

    OT:

If I change my oil now, will all of the sludge be removed meaning that 90-100% good as new na ung oil or meron siyang cumulative effects for the next oil changes?
By "cumulative effects" I mean ung bits of sludge na di natanggal dahil late ako nag oil change dati ay dadami if I don't follow the next regular oil change schedule.

Here is the scenario: Its been 12k kms since I changed the oil. When I checked it, its very thick already and then small amounts of sludge has formed. If i change my oil now, will all of the sludge be removed or is there a special procedure to toatally remove all of the sludge?

Aejhayl was referring to me, I guess.

But like him, I`m no expert. So I wouldn't have the answers to your queries. Might as well post a new topic under the Toyota thread so mostly all of the members can read and hopefully respond.
