I just wanted to get some feedback about sa Isuzu Alterra. Possible problem areas, maintenance costs, performance and the like.
Balak po namin kasi palitan ni misis yung kotse nya 2009 City 1.3 manual. We also have a 2012 montero gls-v matic and we've come to appreciate yung advantages ng diesel SUV especially in terms of practicality.
We prefer 4x2 matic but since this will be a 2nd hand buy we are open to 4wd or manual transmission versions considering all things of course.
p.s. would a similar Y61 Nissan Patrol be a good alternative?
Thanks!

Hi TS
Alterra its a nice suv but the trooper has more attitude and respect
btt alterra is long so the 2nd row is comfortable and more bigger than the montero
even if it has leaf springs its comfortable because of the air suspension and flex ride
4wd it also good for off-roading but dont use the 4wd on concrete roads
Alterra 4x2 matic ka na lang sir. Kahit di masyadong maporma, comfortable at spacious naman. Subok na rin matibay yung engine and drivetrain. Di mo naman kailangan ng 4x4, dagdag pa sa maintenance pa yan.
Alterra, di ka magsisisi (if your focus is on the reliability - maintenance, etc).
Magugulat ka mas malakas sya compared sa Montero mo. (I have both SUVs kasi).
If you are looking for a "pogi" car, look somewhere else.
100tkms is a bit high for a 2008 model. Our daily driven 2005 Accord has barely reached 92tkms. Don't be hasty in buying. Have a good look around, preferably with a trusted mechanic.
You'd learn a lot if you read through the D-Max threads. This is one of the more reliable and fuel efficient SUVs around.
