May 27th, 2012 10:43 PM #1Good day tsikoteers I know there's already an existing thread between monty and eve but i just want to be specific.
Next month we'll be buying a new car and im down to my two choices: the mitsubishi montero sports glx-v or ford everest mt.
Im an engineering student 4th year 19 year old. If my FD will be sold this month probably next month magkakakotse na ako ng mas malaki. Last week im already convinced na ford eve na talaga ang bibilhin though they said second hand pero nagbago isip nila(my parents) just this week na brand new na daw. Hehe! At just this week napag isip isip ko na pwede na rin monty ang bilhin namin and i was influenced by my friends and the horse of monty vgt(178). Please give me some advice/suggestion about:
FC
Porma
Comfort for driver(ganun ba talaga katagtag ang ford eve? Pano kung may 20s ang monty? Matagtag na dn ba?)
Facelift(ano po sa tingin nyo magfa-facelift ng mas maaga?)
How about sa height? Ano po mas mataas(for driver's perspective)?
And any other suggestion po why I should choose monty glx-v over ford everest mt or the other way around. Thanks po for comments! More power tsikoteers!

May 28th, 2012 12:08 AM #2Nasa sayo na yan. The Montero is obviously faster than the Everest. It is more comfortable than the Everest too since the Everest still uses leaf springs at the rear, coupled with the huge rims resulting in the bad ride. The Everest is more spacious though. Its more durable too. And yet despite the lower power ratings, it is still no slouch. Shortcomings of the Montero would include the exterior design, the rear in particular (subjective), and its tendency to easily emit black smoke even when it is still quite new. I've already seen a few VGT Montero's spewing black smoke.

speed at features lamang ang montero, the rest i think is for everest.may nakasabay ako sa byahe last dec pauwi ng province 06 AT model na everest more than 200k kms na gulong lang daw napapalitan nya at reg change oil lang it means matatag sya. yung tagtag naman manageable at concrete naman ang roads sa manila, kung rough roads ka naman eh mas lamang ka sa pang ilalim ng everest

May 28th, 2012 08:38 PM #4sa tingin nyo ano mas Macho(better looks), the Monty or Everest?
kasi para sa'kin pag stock mas maganda ang Everest though napapangitan ako sa harap nya.. pero pag may mags ang monty mas gwapo. problem lang we won't buy any mags if monty ang bibilhin kasi ayaw ng erpat, nasasayangan daw sya sa pera tsaka sobrang dami na ng montero sports dito sa'min sa Zamboanga, halos san ka tumingin may montero. this would be my car until siguro magkakatrabaho at magkakapera na ako sa sariling sikap.

Between the two, I'd get the Montero. The only reason to get the Everest is if kailangan ko ng matinding pangharabas o pang off-road. Since student ka palang, I don't think you'll be doing either of the two, and you're most likely just gonna use the car for city touring duties, so you're better off with the more comfortable car.

May 30th, 2012 10:18 PM #7Oo nga sir. hehe! siguro lagyan ko na lang accessories ang everest if ever ito na ang mapili namin.. Excited na nga talaga ako. hehehehe!!
I still have question mga experts. How come po mababa ang resale value ng Ford Everest? though mas mahal siya kesa sa forty at monty. madami kasi nagbebenta ng ford eve 500-600k(2005-2007), sa fortuner pahirapan pa makahanap ng 600k model 2006-2007)..

FORD kasi.

tama ka, as stock mas gwapo ang Everest, but kung pagagandahin mo mas promising ang Montero lookswise... sa mags, you don't have to change kung Montero kukunin mo, be creative na lang and have it painted to your desire, you can even DIY it...

*henyo: Don't worry about resale value because as what you've mentioned you're going to use it for some time. If you want to get a bang for the buck SUV get the "new/old" Montero (non vgt) it's already a good priced SUV.
Daming issue ng SU7:grin:
