    Hi, All.

I'm not supposed to be in this dilemma but my 2011 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 became a victim of "Habagat". I bought it in cash a year ago. Good thing, I have AOG insurance so I am about to get money within the month. Now I am planning to buy a new car. I am choosing between the City and Fiesta, however, with the current Toyota Caravan, I am thinking if I can get the Toyota Altis 1.6G A/T at a price close to the City and Fiesta.

I am considering Fuel Consumption, Comfort, Resale Value and just Value for Money. Hard to accept this because I am still in love with the Elantra however I do not want to stretch my budget to get the 1.8 version which costs around 958k Today.

I would also like to know if there are any issues with these cars that I should be aware of.

Hope to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

agree with this. altis na lang kung pwede. mas malaki ang space. katapat ng elantra mo dati unlike city and fiesta na mas maliit. sayang din yung discount na makukuha mo sa caravan

I agree with the comments here... Altis mainly because of the space. I drive a current gen Altis and when i transfer to a Honda City, i immediately notice the difference in space.

Thanks for your inputs, so far puro altis ang choice. Question, malaki ba difference ng 4speed matic sa 5speed?

I will pass by Toyota Global City today to inquire about the Altis and hopefully get favorable discounts. By the way, regarding dealers, any suggestions which dealer would I purchase the car if ever? I am also concerned about after sales support as I had a terrible experience with my previous car dealer.

Nothing much as long as you follow the service intervals. Most i've heard about so far were some creaks in the interior panel which can be fixed.

Try checking out the Toyota Caravan promos.

is the current Altis out of the engine smudge issues of the older altis'?

The older Altis only got those engine sludge problems when the owners did not follow the 5,000kms service interval. Usually it was those who used synth oil then extended their drains to 10,000kms without even changing the oil filter at the halfway mark.

So far i've yet to hear a sludge issue with the Gen 10 and Gen 10.5 Altis.

I am almost 90% sure of going with the altis. Sayang wala gaanong kulay. Gusto ko sana yung gray di na pala available yung ganun. I am thinking of going with black (again) or medium silver or silver.
