    Hi peeps,

Need your expert opinion and experience (especially to those who already have these cars). I am particularly interested to get your views on the following:

    Speed/Power (what's your experience)
Exterior / Interior (any thing you like/dislike)
    Drive handling (ease of use)
    Ride (smoothness or matagtag)
    Support (casa reference)
    Audio (medyo particular ako dito)
Consumption (city driving and hi-way driving)
    Overall Value for Money

    galant = 1,580,000 (citimotors website)
    Civic 2.0 S-L AT = 1,127,000 (hondaphil.com)
    Civic 2.0 S-L AT (Pearl White Mica) = 1,142,000.00 (hondaphil.com)

pero dapat compare ang accord to galant kasi sila ang same category.

    I think you're better off with a slightly used BMW E46 325i/330i or E39 525i / 530i / 540i BMW (E60 is best but it'll be a a challenge to find one though I know someone who got an E60 for 1.2M last summer).

thanks to those who have responded so far.

i know it is a bit different comparing the two, galant being an executive car and civic a regular sedan. cost wise, i may be able to get kasi both at almost the near price (may nagbebenta kasi sa akin na expat on the galant at 1.2m and barely a month pa lang).

indeed magaling and features ng galant being an executive car, while the honda is on the performance side. kaya kailangan ko tulong in accenting which of this should i give more importance. better if the owners mismo can provide their likes and dislikes between the two choices

Sir, I am sorry to tell you but it seems that all tsikoteers doesnt own one. The real Galants ended up in the 8th generation (for me).

In some angles, the Galant is a beautiful car except Olivier Boulays grille which doesnt fit in there. The resale value will also be lower than the Civic since its a mid-size car. But the engine, you get the 2.4L Mivec that produces a nice sound. The suspension will also differ as well, Mitsubishi has a little bit of Rally pedigree on its cars but this will also have the comfort since it competes with the Camry and Accord.

I am sorry I couldnt help much. But I guess you have to test drive both to find out.

If you can afford it (and its maintenance), buy the bigger car.

It'll have poorer fuel economy and slightly higher maintenance - that's a given.

Galant ba yun? I thought it was an Anventure. lol 1.2M for barely a month old? Madali ata nagsawa ang prev. owner? Seriously, if you’re a family man with kids, go for the galant. Primarily with it’s space, you can keep it for long.

    Hi!
    I own/drive a 1.8 variant but I hope I may be of help.

    Engine Performance:

Of course, the K20 DOHC i-VTEC engine will give you higher HP and torque compared to the R18 SOHC i-VTEC engine for the 1.8.

Since you're asking for the "High End" model S-L, you get an A/T with Paddle Shifters with cruise control.

    Handling
pretty much the same with the 1.8 variant.

    Safety:
As was said on another thread: SRS, ABS, EBD and LSD are standard with S-L

    Exterior:
    1.8S variant + Side Mirror Turn Lights/Lamp and 17inch mags (sourced from EP3 )

    Interior:
    1.8S variant + Leather Seats + 6-disc changer

    Fuel Consumption:
    8-9 km/L - City/Urban
    10-11 km/L - Highway

the 1.8S and the 2.0S-L almost only differs on the Engine (R18 vs. K20) and ammenities inside.

Another suggestion would be, if you have time to spare, test drive both the vehicles so you'll have an overview.

Anyway, My money still goes for the FD (hehe!). Why not include the Limited Edition 2.0S M/T carbon bronze Mettalic in your option (better value for money compared to the 2.0S-L and LM)

If you also have time to spare:
check our site, www.teamfd.com.ph where there are 2.0S-L owners that can/may assist you on your inquiry!

    HTH!

FYI, A brandnew galant is currently selling for 1.25M, SA just txt me that its available for viewing already.

OT, I'm torn between a galant, santa fe or sorento. i know its like comparing apples to oranges. but i like the galant coz there are so few of them on the road. kinda exclusive, but then, so is the Santa Fe and Sorento.

If the fuel and maintenance penalty are ok with you, go for the Galant

It's more luxurious since it's of a higher class.

You really prefer this over a 5-series E39 (which you can get for more or less 1M)?

    sample pic of E39:
