Yung mga sinabi ni happy gilmore, oks lahat. Kung old school ka, hanap ng ng late 80's na Lancer EX, yung box type.

    Wala ka bang preference?

The general tip would be, get the latest model you can afford (unless nga you have a preference, e.g. Toyota lang, or 1.6L minimum)
Have your trusted mechanic check everything.

ae92(corolla '89-92). CBU from Japan, lots of spare parts. you may have a hard time finding a good specimen though

pero maganda if you can find a good AE101(corolla '95-96) XL for that price range -- kung XE, even better.

    personal choices:

Mazda Familia 323 1.6 (but its a gas guzzler)
Nissan Sentra series2 1.6 (old but reliable and lighter than series3)
Nissan Sentra series3 1.6 (newer, two engine types GA16DNE & GA16DE available depending on year model)
Toyota Corolla AE101 (might be a bit over your budget)

    some alternatives:
Nissan Sentra LEC-PS (power steering with a 1.3 liter engine)
Toyota Corolla AE89 (also known as 16valve 1.6L)

    My 2 cents.

    AE 101 kung kaya.

Then Series 3 ng Nissan, Mazda Familia, Series 2, LEC

Stay away from the AE 89 luma na masyado sakit na ng ulo yan.

    imho.
mazda has a really nice engine, aside from the fact that the GLXi variant's stock version is really loaded (EFi, CD-changer, etc...).
toyota.you can really never question it's reliability, affordability and ease of maintenance.

if you're not really too brand conscious, i'd also say get a familia glxi. it's fully loaded and not really hard to maintain as other people suspect. usually kasi for it's price and same year, you get a 1.3l, no power amenities and very bare car from other brands. ang talagang losing point mo is the resale value. pero since 2nd hand na naman, di na masyadong factor yun. you buy it cheap, you sell it cheap. syempre toyota unquestionable talaga na kasama sa choices.

    AE89?

Anyways for sure nakabili ka na but for those ppl with the same question, ok pa rin yung mga AE92 (89 to 92 gl corollas) and those EE90 (89 to 92 Xl, Xe Corollas)...usually prices ranges from 95k to 135k.
