November 6th, 2008 05:50 PM #1I'm planning to buy used car but my problem is i don't know what to check in terms of the legal papers and the car itself. baka kase maloko ako, paano ba malalaman kung peke yun OR and CR. and anu ano ang mga dapat icheck sa sasakyan (engine, chasis etc..)and kung papano na din icheck. Thanks guys, appreciate your inputs...

first pa check mo sasakyan sa trusted mechanic
check OR/CR , bid of sale , and also xerox the driver license ung may ari for your own record
and for test driving, better ask your trusted mechanic to do the test

add ko lang:
exterior.
Check for rust sa hinges ng hood, trunk, doors.
Check for the badges, if in original positions, tells signs ng repainting.
yung condition ng car, mararamdaman mo kapag na-testdrive mo na to. I suggest you bring a mechanic with you.

-visual check engine, hoses & tubings for leaks
-check unusual noise & vibration during drive testing
-usually valid pa registration nyan, TMG clearance is needed once you register it in your name sa LTO. make sure you can run after the vendor in case of problem sa registration. tama, photocopy his ID's and take a photo of him kahit from your celfone.

Bring your car to your trusted (read: honest) mechanic for a prepurchase inspection if you do not feel confident enough as to what to look for.
Mileage does not mean anything if the car includes a good amount of service history records to prove it was well taken care of.
