Hi Tsikoteers, my sister's planning to buy a new car. Her qualifications are that she wants a sedan, and she wants an A/T car. Her budget is about P750k, but of course, the cheaper, the better. She has narrowed it down to 3 choices: The new City 1.3S, Vios 1.5G, and the Lancer GLS (the old design - not the new EX model).

City Pros
- newest design (subjectively the most handsome of the 3 choices)
- probably the best FC among the three
- most probably with the best resale value of the three

City Cons
- only 1.3Li, weakest of the 3 engines
- only car with drum brakes at the rear
- most expensive acquisition cost of the 3 choices (P756k with no disc and no freebies)
- 175/15 stock wheels (thinnest of the 3 choices)
- not so good feedback with the new A/T

Vios Pros
- Good FC with good power (1.5 Li)
- Super ECT AT transmission
- Good resale value (probably at par with Honda's)
- reliable car

Vios Cons
- almost as expensive as Honda (P755k - discounted price with better freebies vs Honda)
- bland, subjectively the ugliest of the 3
- smallest of the 3 cars (in terms of car dimensions)
- old design, should already be nearing MMC upgrade

Lancer Pros
- Cheapest of the 3 options by ~P60k (discounted price of P695k)
- Most powerful engine (although Vios is almost as powerful -- 110 vs 107 hp. Vios even has torque advantage, 141 vs 142 nm)
- Best interior/exterior features of the three (15"/14" front/rear disc brakes, leather steering wheel and leather shift knobs, 195/15 wheels, most comfortable seats of the 3, back-up sensors, etc.)
- Invecs III CVT sportstronic
- biggest of the 3 cars in terms of dimensions
- independent multi-link rear suspension (other two are torsion beams)

Lancer Cons
- old design, here's a new lancer already in the market
- old engine technology (non-MIVEC)
- Probably the worst FC of the three
- worst resale value
- CVT woes? (although this is only reported at Honda and not with Mitsu)

Personally, my vote goes with the Lancer as I feel that it has the best bang-for-the-buck. Would like to know fellow tsikoteer's thoughts and inputs to help my sister decide.
