    1. 2000 rav 4

    2. 2002 crv

    3. 2004 escape xls/xlt

    4. any other suggestion po....

A/T po ang gusto ko. and my budget is 300k++ . i just need ur inputs, comments and advice on what should i consider in choosing a 2nd hand car, besides the low odo reading. saka which is better po in terms of maintenance, engine power and fuel consumption knowing the high fuel price in manila... your comments will be highly appreciated.. salamat and more power..

Based on your choices I'd go with the Rav 4, 02 to 06 CRV's are gas guzzlers and so is the Ford Escape. Parts wise Totyotas are much easier to source and more reasonable than the latter 2. The downside is the room inside which is small.

I don't have an alternative suv for you to choose but will join again if other members give their inputs.

Sir, anong generation yung Rav 4? Ito ba yung 1st or yung 2nd. Yung 1st generation eh yung may version na 3-door.

Same suggestion with ans_lim, the 2nd gen CRV are gas guzzlers.

If you are conscious about fuel consumption and are buying a CUV, the best is to get the 4x2 M/T variant.

The Rav4 is a fine car, but resale value is ridiculously high. And take note that it is A/T and full time 4x4 only, unless you get the 1.8L 4x2 variant which is offered much later and is out of your budget.

If you're targeting the 2.0L A/T Escape, don't bother. Its a comfortable, well handling and sturdy (sturdiest among the three in fact) car mind you, but it drinks gas like a V6! Despite weedy performance, consumption is actually not far off from its 3.0V6 brother, which you might as well get instead. However, if you are to get the 2005 and above models with the 2,3L engine, then it turns to a really desirable car. Engine performance and fuel efficiency are both significantly increased.

How about the XTrail and Tribute? They also belong within the same group.

Yung X-Trail pwede rin basta di importante sayo yung resale value. If you are interested, get the 2.0L 4x2 variant, it'd be more spacious and more fuel efficient than the Rav4.

The Mazda Tribute 2.3L is out of the 300+k budget still, unless you get the older V6 models. It is basically a rebadged Escape, so if you get the 2.3L Escape it is just the same car with different trims and features.

    Sir gti,

U mean ung 2.3l variant of escape is more fuel effiecient than the 2.0 ? Kahit po sa city driving? For sure sa hiway driving malakas ang hatak non.

Between the 3 which one would u prefer? Xtrail 4x2, rav 4 2001 or escape 2.3L po? Salamat

Mga sirs salamat po sa mga info. Madami po ko nalaman. 1st time ko din po kc bibili ng sasakyan. Now im torn between xtrail and escape. But mas matimbang saken ang escape kc un tlga 1st choice ko before bcoz of its astig look. Ang concern ko lang before is ung fc nya but now i came to know ok nman pla ung 2.3L variant nya. Kung san nalang po ako makakahanap ng good deal un ang pipiliin ko. Thanks again guys

You can't go wrong with escape 2.3l...speed, handling, looks, space, power, etc...I'm a happy owner of 05 escape FC for long drive (Manila - Bicol) is 10-14km/L at 100-140 kph. City driving with moderate traffic 6-8km/L. madami at mura ang parts sa banawe.

Escape is also the most comfortable among the choices. Just make sure that you get the 2.3 engine. Newer model rin piliin mo para mas sulit kung pasok sa budget. Good luck sa paghanap!

Mga sirs, maraming salamat sa mga info at comments. It is very helpful for a newbie like me. So im decided now to get a ford escape 2.3l. A/t. Can u help me guys to find a good deal with my budget of 300k++. If u know somebody who is selling their escape just let me know. Ill be coming to phils nxt month.

One more thing. Where is the best place or site to look for a good deal? Is it ok to look on buy and sell sites? Bcoz most of it u need to deal with the agents so mas mahal na sha kasi may patong na. Ok sana kung sa direct owner.

Last na po. Wala kasi akong kilalang mekaniko to check the car. What are the major items na dapat ko pong icheck besides test driving it. Salamat po ulit
