Hi peeps. First timer ako dito sa site. I'm planning to buy my first car. I'm choosing between mitsubishi lancer glxi pizza pie & honda esi. Factors that i'm considering are fuel efficiency, maintenance cost, & durability (ano ba mas matibay with regards sa kalawang)
Thanks sa mga inputs niyo. =)

ESi. It's an easy to mod vehicle and it's small.

Hirap lang sa ESi eh yung kalawang issues which up to now eh di pa alam cause.

Both have all-power features and 1600 efi engines.
But the GLXi has more torque for city drives.

Both look good and are durable.
They have readily available JDM aftermarket bolt-ons.

    Both have good suspensions.
But the ESi's double wishbone set-up is a big winner in its class (Porsche uses a similar set-up). I never had problems with my ESi's suspension despite driving it hard (most of the time) and aggressively even on sharp curves.

    Rust?
Both are old cars. Expect rust. ESi's are older and would most likely have them at the roof and rear pillars but who cares? Just have it washed over then you're good.

I go for the ESi simply because it's got great suspension and more tuning potential (strong jdm engines bolt straight on).

I heard it's not that simple swapping in jdm tuner engines in the pizza.

If you're the go-racer type, get the ESi. Otherwise, the Lancer will be a good choice because of cheaper parts and lower resale value, which means you can get one for a lesser price.

Hmmm ....

Yung isa naman `00 1.6GLi from manila dinala sa Cebu ... by road.

    No kalampag issues din.

Thanks sa mga inputs nyo. I've heard that ESI are prone to overheating, is it true? If yes, how can this be corrected?

Yes. Just have the thermostat replaced, water pump checked, radiator overhauled, aux fan motor upgraded and radiator cap replaced with 1.1 psi rating. Man just do this and you don't even have to convert the rad into two rows like most Civic people do.

Then you can redline like hell (8500 rpm if you're lucky) and you need not worry about blowing gaskets...

honda esi or mitsubishi lancer glxi?
