First time car buyer but we have a family-owned Montero Sport and an old Altis now.

Nalalakihan ako sa Montero Sport kaya I wanted to buy the CX5 instead.

Both of them are roughly P1.5M and so far here are the pro's and con's that I see.

    Fortuner:
    + Resale Value
    + Price of Parts
    + Better for Flood
    + Bigger
    - Bigger
? Diesel variant more mileage than CX5?

    CX5:
+ Good Mileage (Better than Diesel Fortuner?)
    + Made in Japan
    + Yojin 3
    - Resale Value not good compared to Toyota
    - Not as high as Fortuner
    - More cramped inside?
? Same Legroom lang ba sa second row ng Fortuner?

Anyone have the interior dimensions of the Fortuner?

If I'm ready to give up on interior space, are there other reasons to choose the CX5 over the Fortuner?

    CX5:
only 5 seater (ok if you don't require more)
    way more comfortable

    Fortuner:
    7 seater
about the same ride quality as montero

I doubt if there will be significant difference in mileage. You can dispose the Altis and get CX5 so that you have a 7 and 5 seater.

You can opt for the base Forester (2.0i-L model). It offers a bigger interior than the CX5 and a bigger trunk. It also has good ground clearance. It comes standard with AWD, if that is of use to you. The price is lower than the CX5 Pro.

The drive and steering may not be as good as the CX5 but it's a good all-around CUV. The interiors, though, are not as premium as a CX5.

Choosing between the CX5 and Fortuner, I'd go with the CX5. Better driving dynamics, better ride.

I'd go for the Fortuner.... because it is diesel and a Toyota.

Even if both consume fuel at a rate of 8Km/L, at the current fuel prices, you save roughly P150 per 100Km. That's P7,500 per 5KKm,- the approximate equalizer in the PMS.

And at 7-seater,- it gives you more options.

Seems like gusto mo ng crossover kasi ayaw mo na ng malaki. Minimal lang naman ang adjustment ng driving ng fortuner at cx5 in terms of size. So baka di ka rin matuwa na mas maliit dala mo. What about ecosport or the upcoming brv?

I don't get it. you don't want the Montero because of it's size bakit nasa listahan mo ang Fortuner
Fortuner has built-in belly burner, If you know what I mean

stick ka nalang sa altis or all new Innova.

CX-5 para maiba. Lahat ng kanto may makikita kang Fortuner.

Fortuner more of a workhorse. Kawawa crossovers when daily driven over edsa potholes IMO.

Bro- last time I drove through EDSA was a couple of weeks ago,- during the last Monday-holiday.... (from Magallanes to Megamall....)

I remember not experiencing so many potholes...

Did I miss this? Or was I not paying so much attention?
