Ano ba definition mo ng full time 4wd? You can't compare 4wd system ng everest sa new monty mo. Sa monty, like sa new gen fort, old gen everest and old monty, it uses a "dumb" center differential that is lockable. Either you lock it or unlock it. So pag naka 2H ka lang, phitin mo knob to 4H to engage open center diff 4x4. Some call it "part time" 4wd, they say. Pinaganda lang term and added different driving modes like snow to adjust ABS, traction control and stability control sensitivity...

Basically, if you lock it(4Hlc or 4Llc) 50:50 torque split nya for front and rear. If di locked(4H), kung saan madulas gulong dun pupunta power.

Sa new everest, intelligent AWD sya, may clutch pack ung center diff to vary torque split between front and rear axle on-demand.

Then pag may na detect sensors ng sudden change in g-force, yaw, pitch and roll, and or wheel spin/slip, saka nya i vary torque split from 30:70, 50:50 or 98:2,etc... Depende kung saan tire may grip dun nya ibibigay power to prevent over or understeer, or balahaw. Then using brake traction control, it can even send 100% torque on just one wheel. All this things happen in millisecond...

Both systems have pros and cons, point is di mo pede compare 4wd system ni eve kay monty. I think si Eve lang PPV(pay per view? LoL) na may ganitong 4wd system.

P.S.
Ranger 4x4 uses same set up like kay monty mo.
4wd is that all 4wheels is powered by engine. To dig deeper. There are awd (fulltime)and parttime 4wd. Fulltime is usually use on high speed for extra traction on slippery road and parttime is usually use for trail low speed high torque steep rocky road. I have driven an audi awd from newjersy to north carolina during winter. And indeed it helps a lot. For parttime i have tried pinatubo trail and river crossing in tanay. Most of the ppv's mux . Fort .chevy are parttime. Which you cannot use on highspeed like hiway. Only monty and everest have these features to use it both. Thats y im comparing both of them. The everest is fulltime 4x4 with trail capability. While the monty you have a choice to be fulltime 4x4 as well as fulltime 2wd which saves you 1 to 5 percent gas money.Besides superlect has been proven its reliability in dakkar and old pajeros about 25 yrs ago. Indeed we can compare all 4x4 . Since it is ppv's and its 4x4 . Whether its part time or fulltime. Price , technology may differ. Monty may not have the best technology but surely it has the best overall price per technology and price per features. And certainly monty engine is the most advance in passenger car first in its class to introduce mivecs in diesel engine.
