hello to all. kia besta or nissan urvan? dagdag ko pong tanong, kasya po ba ang apat na rows na upuan sa likod ng besta? yung lahat nakaharap sa unahan?

dami ko nakikita na urvan, service pa ng DHL phil... those babies are heavy duty. naka drive na din ako nito, medyo kulang sa bilis pero ganun talaga sila, non turbo na diesel eh, pero sagana sa hatak. at di hamak na mas maporma sa besta.

besta maganda din. i'm sure mas mura ito kesa sa urvan. kaya kung cost of ownership ang usapan, well, mas mura kumuha ng besta i think.

kia pregio maganda din ah... may automatic pa. kaso i'm told yung mga unang labas na pregio may tendency mag overheat... yung next iteration oks an daw.

urvan kanalang, 100 kph siguro hindi na ganun kabagal sa expresway.. and mukhang matibay compare sa kiabesta laspagin...

meron po kaming kia besta 97 model 2.7, lakas humatak. paint lang hindi maganda, pangit kasi pagkarepaint dun sa dating owner. nabakbak ung puting paint sa likod, buti puti yung dating kulay kaya hindi masyadong agaw pansin. pero walang bulok/sira sa katawan, lahat ng parts ng interior and exterior ay buo. kahit yung ilalim maganda. kasya din po ba kaya sa besta ang apat na rows sa likod na lahat nakaharap sa unahan?

i start loving korean cars when we bought an imported Besta van 2.7 latest model here in the PH at that time, ownership is easy bcoz of cheap parts, low maintenance, fuel efficient & a family/business vehicle mutli-purpose talaga but because of the location of the air cleaner w/c is under the front driver side just at the back of front bumper it easily gets wet or sometimes soaked in flooded water wherein one time it accidentally happen when we crossed a knee deep water suddenly the engine stop, when i turn on the ignition it just start but don't crank nun pala the flooded water entered the engine already thru the air cleaner after that we decided to sell it and buy another multi-purpose vehicle the KC2700 w/c is another story...
conclusion - ok ang Besta but be wary of its air cleaner location other than that no problem basta maintained it regulary...altho nissan SD22 pick up we also have before but the unreasonable high price decided us to sell it, dont know the Urvans parts if it cost more than Besta...HTH!

Nasa Urvan nalang ako. Dahil hanggang ngayon pinoproduce pa yan, so it is assured that we can get new and high quality spare parts. Besides, sablay sa quality ang mga Korean cars from the 90s. Nakasakay na ako ng Besta before, it was the service vehicle of my high school back then. It's exterior does look more modern than the Urvan due to the multireflector headlights. But the aircon sucks, parang utot lang! Ang hina! Ang Urvan din nakasakay ako, it was the service vehicle at Canyon Woods. The aircon is cool and the engine has no problem taking on the steep inclines even with the aircon still on. As for ride quality, feeling ko halos magkapareho lang sila.

hahaha sakto sa besta namin 98 model na 2.2 ang makina. 3 years to pay 1st year pa lang ang hina na agad ng aircon... a few months later bumigay alternator tapos mausok na. di pa tapos bayaran sa banko bulok na, ang masakit ay gamit lang namin yun pag coding yung hiace namin. buti na lang mura parts. pero kahit orig bilihin mo madali pa din masira.

at the same time we also had an urvan escapade... sulit sa byahe... malakas na makina malakas pa aircon... nasubukan ko once 155kph sa star tollway. besta 80 hirap na hirap.

ganyan na ganyan nangyari sa Besta Uncle ko napasukan ng water engine mababa pala location ng aircleaner... sakit sa ulo yung nabili nila Besta pero hangang ngayon tumatakbo parin naman, pero dami ng nagastos pang pagawa lagi kasi nasisira...

original 3 rows sa likod diba. baka pag pinilit mong gawin 4 sobrang sikip na. tsaka yung butas sa sahig babaguhin mo.

Nissan Urvan. Looks better. Rides better. Air-conditioning is better. The car is freaking better than a Besta, period.

ang Urvan at Besta isnt even fighting on the same price range.

kung kaya ng Urvan at Hiace (kahit yung previous generation from 94-04) yun na lang. kasi di hamak na mas maganda.

kung hindi, ok na yung Besta. Could still do van chores for lesser entry price.

Nissan Urvan for me... More parts, better reliability, and flexible.... Sir, what's your budget?? Other choices can be the Hyundai Starex (2001-up), and Toyota Hiace (local).

the standard besta has only 3 rows behind the driver, seating 8 adults comfortably. there is a 4 row variant, easily recognizable by its longer body and additional window at the rear. bugbog ang tuhod mo kung pipilitin ng 4 rows ang standard besta. and beware of the two-piece construction of the fan blade assembly..
we used to have a 2.7 besta. it's really a korean mazda. i'd use mazda parts if i could, everytime i had to replace something. i'd probably buy it back from the guy i sold it to, if he were to sell it back to me. you really don't know how blessed you are, until you lose it..

aside from that, strong-built engine comes in 2.7 Di. (kaso d nga ganoon katulin) but when it comes to uphill climbing, it won't let you down (kaso pakiramdam ko e, parang ka-aura ng Tamaraw FX kapag humaharabas sa ahunan e, ok naman ), cool-cabin because of the strong aircon (the nissan's legendary calsonic compressor, tama ba?)

thanks sa mga idea/opinion, sana dumami pa. 15 years old pa lang po ako hehe di pa po ako bibili ng sasakyan. may besta kami na 9.8/10 pa ang condition. ginawa ko po itong competition na ito kasi pareho kong gusto ang urvan at besta. gusto ko din na van ang ford e150 tsaka gl at super grandia. question po, magkasing lakas ba ang 2.7 ng besta at 2.7 ng urvan kung tungkol sa power? kasi kung sa speed tinging ko mas mabilis urvan tsaka hanggang 100 kp/h lang pinapatakbo itong besta namin.

AFAIK, mas lamang ng ilang kabayo ang Besta. 80bhp vs. 70-something ng Urvan? But speed is not always about power. Factor din diyan ang gear ratios ng transmission among other things.
