    Mga idol help naman po...

We are planning to buy a second hand A/T car, and this two are the choices(we are also looking into a Toyota vios, same year model with the honda, kaso medyo mahirap makahanap ng kasya sa budget, puro manual).

What is the best buy in terms of:
    1. Fuel consumption -(yung city daw matipid pero sobrang layo ba ng difference with the sentra?)

    2. Tranny -(is it true na may issues un cvt ng city?. Mas ok ba tranny ng sentra in long term?)

    3. Engine -(we had a 1992 sentra jx M/T back then,2nd hand bought, 15yrs. din samen. No major sakit ng ulo! I would say na matibay talaga...Ganun din kaya yung ganitong Model ng mga sentra sa choices ko?)

    4. Availability & prices of parts

Hope to hear from you guys...thanks in advance...

Our experience with the 2003-06 City IDSI isn't very fond, although our units were manual transmission, it came to a point when one broke down, expect the others to follow suit a few weeks or months later depending upon the user. It's like a ticking time bomb expecting to explode at a given time.

We haven't tried Nissan units yet, but I hear the gx is a little underpowered compared to its predecessors, since it has a bigger body but a smaller engine displacement. Although, I see some units used as taxis within the metro, then its an indicator that they would be affordable to maintain and fuel efficient.

    thanks po sa inputs...

We are still looking.Medyo naging busy kc kami kaya wala time tumingin.May mga nacheck na din kami na unit pero sablay...

Sama ko na po sa choices yung 2001-2003 Nissan Grandeur.Pasok din kc sa budget & ang gara ng interior...but,ok po ba yung unit na to?

Hope to hear from you guys...TIA

*bogart - same lang chassis at engine ng 2001-2003 Exalta Grandeur series sa Sentra GS 1.6L 2004-2011. The lower trim GX uses the same chassis but with a smaller 1.3L engine and less features.

this may not be in your list of qualities above, but... all those nissan sentras, from 1996 to the current model, they all have the same (relatively) cramped second row passenger space.

Go for the 1.6L variant. Power is better than the 1.3L and based on feedback, fuel consumption is pretty much the same because of the heavy body of the N16.

We had a 2001 Grandeur years ago; comfort is good and power is good (basta malinis lagi yung MAF sensor). It ran best on 95 octane fuel also. If you had the older Sentra, the source of disappointment on the Grandeur would be the electronics; mabilis masira ang small things like the power door lock actuators and power antenna. Otherwise it was reliable for us until we sold it to a friend. Maganda if you can find the sunroof version.
