which is better? i think the best option is to retain your mazda 3.... hehehehe.
but if you let me choose between the 2, i would still go for the manual. mas cheaper ang maintenance ng manual kesa matic. unless, you want to drive around the city in a matic, then the cvt is ok.

oo nga nang hihinayang ako sa mazda ko.
    pero mas tipid yung jazz.
alin ba mas tipid? yung cvt or manual?
ilan kilometer per liter ng manual at ng matic?
    thank you po.

Why sell your mazda3? The fuel that you'll save from buying a jazz will just offset the depreciation that you absorb when you bought the mazda3 & for the new jazz.

Here's my computation considering conservative estimates:

    Your Option:
    P800K Mazda3 (new) 30% depn (now) = P240K
P690K Jazz CVT (new) 50% depn (a few years from now) = P345K
    P585K in total depreciation expense

less P20K per year savings on fuel =
    assumption per year: 15,000 km, P40/L, 8km/L MZ3, 11km/L Jazz

    Retain Option:
    P800K Mazda3 (new) - less 60% depn (after a few years) =
    P480K in total depreciation expense

Yeah I agree. Keep the Mazda3. It's not horrible naman eh 7-8km/L city.

The Jazz will get 12km/L or even 14km/L, sure. If you drive 30km per day, which is just about right, you would spend (30 / 7) * 40 = 171 pesos a day. In the Jazz you would spend (30 / 14) * 40 = 86 pesos a day.

A savings of.. 91 pesos a day or 2730/month (if you drive every day), or 32760/year. That's not a lot.

The Mazda3 in my opinion is much better inside than the Jazz or City, not to mention nicer-riding and quieter.

due for 30 thou check up na yung sakin pinacompute ko aabot 12 thou gastos sa kasa.. plus almost 3 years na yung mazda ko. mawawala na sa warranty.
maganda nga yung mazda kaya lang 2 kms a day ko lang ginagamit nasasayang lang.
and lalabas narin bagong mazda 3.
another 100 thou depreciation na naman.
dame narin dapat paayos sa. medyo marame na scratches.
    another 30 thou for repaint.

Keep your mazda nalang. Sobrang lugi ka. Unless sobrang sawa kana sa mazda mo then get the 1.3 cvt jazz

CVT is more fuel-efficient but if it breaks you're screwed

MT pa din for performance, efficiency, and price. Kung medyo nagkaka-edad ka na at nangangalay na yung hita mo sa clutch, CVT is not a bad alternative though.

I dont think that if a CVT transmission breaks, your "screwed" kaagad. Repairing it should be as simple as repairing a clutch in a manual tranny. Simple naman ang technology ng CVT eh.

For this vehicle, the AT/CVT option is obviously better

I'd rather recommend the jazz 1.3 m/t because it's cheaper to maintain.
