I was looking for cars the other day in Philkotse and decided to send an email to one ad and inquire about the location of the car. I received a reply from a different email and it looks shady. I removed the name.

    HI
I'm Mr the owner of the Honda City , im a British, 57 years old. I have just received your request on the sale of my car Honda City price PHP 250.000‏‏.It is in very good condition and has no mechanical problems. Car always well maintained. Absolutely no repairs needed. My car has never had any accident. Moreover, all these documents are OK. As a feature, some description of my car
2013 Honda City 1.5 E automatic paddle shift white
    Accident free money back guarantee
Complete legal documents ready for transfer
    No hidden issues
Excellent condition of engine aircon and suspension

I am eligible for retirement in January and I just joined my wife state function abroad. We will return to the country in November 2020 and this is the reason why the car was for sale. Before my trip, I gave the car to a carrier in the country who will deliver it to you. If you are interested, leave me your contact information so that I transmit to the carrier who will contact you for a visit to your home without shipping costs. You'll have only PHP 250.000 to pay for the price of my car to delivery after testing the car and check all its papers. If you are interested to our proposition, please let your following address:

    Family name.........................................
    First name..........................................
    Addess............................................ ..
    Zip code............................................
    City.............................................. ..
    Cellphone number....................................
    Adress email........................................

So that I transmit to my carrier to prepare the delivery for your place.

    I'm waiting for your detail
    Thanks.

I guess I'll be sticking with Carousell and FB Marketpalce.

The P250.00 would be paid upfront. Hindi na mababawi yan.

prospective buyer would be shown "the car" by his "carrier" (accomplice).
that is probably the last time, he will see it.
    "boodle boodle", automotive version.

notice that the scammer does not volunteer any address, phone number, or anything that can directly be traced to his person.

    my advice,
buy from folks with identified addresses.
don't transact business at the convenient gasoline station or fastfood parking lot.

It's a scam after all, they'll say or do anything to get some money. They may even say it's for processing fee etc etc...

Hindi ko nga din alam. I don't know anyone in the right mind na magdedeposit ng hindi nakikita yung car. Ang naiisip ko lang is yung info na inaask. Baka gamitin kung saan.

Especially sa mga naghahanap ng cheap relatively new low mileage 2nd hand, yun ang mga nabibiktima nyan. Di pa kasi nila alam yung saying na "If it's too good to be true it probably is."

Something similar almost happened to a cousin of mine years ago.

    LoL!

Hahaha. Parang may ganyan din ako 4 years ago. I checked the car tapos okay naman. Kaso yung payment, deposit muna sa bank then balik daw ako sa house nila. Nagexit na ako after hearing that.
