Hello mga boss. Just want to hear your opinion. First time buyer ng second hand car. I am planning to buy my first second hand car next month. I have few question regarding this.

    2. Anong possible issue na ma-iencounter ko if for example nagka-LTO violation ako sa province and then ang car is naka-register sa Metro Manila?

    2. Wala, pero pwede mo naman register sa province nyo come renewal time.

    alas, 'tis one non-law law...

a year ago, registering my car at the LTO with internet portal,
i was advised by my internet coach, "ser, na-rehistro nyo na ba yung lancer nyo? biglang lumabas sa portal."
"over 7 years ago ko pa na-benta yon, po. nasan ba kamo siya?"
    "tuguegarao."
    heh heh.

    1. LTO renewal registration may be successfully done in any LTO branch in the country, batanes to jolo. there will be an extra fee (100 bucks?) for transfer of venue from the immediate previous renewal. they do not ask for updated ownership or ID of the registering person. just present the last year's OR and CR xerox. i do it all the time.

    2. the current registered owner (the name on the CR) will be the address LTO will send the summons to. this unfortunate person will then show them the deed of sail, to indicate to which address they must send the summons to.

    1. If you are the authorized driver then no issues. You can even renew regs even if the registered owner is dead, that's how it is in the Philippines. As long as it is registered to LTO, the constitution allows you to operate the vehicle within the archipelago.

If open deed of sale and you get involved to accident, the previous owner has civil liabilities while criminal liability for the driver.

If vehicle is tagged/ with alarm at TMG then the driver is in trouble

    2. Driver gets ticket if contact-apprehension. Registered owner gets ticket if contactless apprehension - non-settlement will accumulate the amount of penalties and the vehicle registration cannot be renewed.

    May I know saan province?

I once took this path. And yes, sa NCR ko Pina renew and transfer. Deed of sale pinaka importante.

Baka it could have been another story if malayo province ko, better make sure pre na OK na Lahat before executing the transaction para wala problema.

Thanks for the inputs boss. Kaya ko natanong kasi I still remember when my father bought some old junk second hand car at nung magri-renew na sana siya sa LTO Davao, sinabihan siyang may alarm yung car nya at need nya pumunta sa LTO branch kung saan naka-register ang car which is in LTO Gensan pa.

there is a "rush" service in the process in the verification of provenance.
i have seen it done in one day, provided all the papers are in order.
it costs just a bit more than the regular process.

an hour or so lang ang LTO mismo.

LTO does not care who's renewing the LTO registration. ***
all it asks for are the OR and CR, kahit xerox. there is about 100 pesos' extra fee for "change venue" (previous LTO branch is not the same as current LTO branch).
of course, the new OR will still be in the name of the current name on the CR.
smooth sailing yan dapat, maliban na lang kung may hot car report or other issues concerning the car.

*** but i will bring along my deed of sale, in case i am asked why i am renewing registration of the car, so far away from the previous branch.

This is not true anymore ... LTO will now check who is registering the vehicle ... it's either you or a relative with the same surname ... this rule is not applied in all regions though ... but better to know in advance ...

Have registration transferred to your name before moving the car to another region ... it is better and faster to have it done where the original records are located ...

So yung mga bayan sellers na hindi pa nabenta na unit (Open Deed of Sale), hindi na dapat ba sila makapag renew?

Those people have "connections" inside LTO ... but for normal people, it will be more difficult ...

I renewed cars in Mandaluyong, Pasig and even sa Pagsanjan Laguna, never tinanong nang LTO kung kaano ano ko yung owner nang car..

Buying second hand car from Metro Manila and bring it to Province. What would I need to consider?
