since medyo mataas na yung budget mo, i suggest getting something newer like:

    a) 99 and up na Corolla Lovelife
    b) 2k - 2k2 model na Lancer Pizza
    c) 2k-2k4 model na Nissan Sentra

hwag kalimutan magtabi pa ng 20k for repairs.

I have seen for myself how reliable it is, kahit yung mga matic version. FC is just so-so but good enough. There's ABS and dual airbags too. Its boring as a kitchen appliance, but a good car if all you want is a mode of transport.

Early to mid 2000s Exalta pasok na. Get the 1.6M/T variant for best satisfaction.

For the Honda Civic, the iconic EK will fit your budget but you will be getting a rather old unit, around 1999 at most and that's if you're willing to get the non-VTEC LXi.

And then there's the Ford Lynx. Specs rival and resale value is similar to, if not lower than the Sentra's. Yet I still prefer this one with its much sportier look. With your budget, the early to mid 2000s 2nd gen 1.6L is within reach.

suggest ko nissan sentra kasi nasa lampas 2000 model na makukuha mo. try mo tingnan yung exalta na top of the line baka makajackpot ka.
pwede din ford lynx sa budget mo.

Malakas na makina na Honda on a limited budget?

a 17 year old car is a 17 year old car.
and a 17 year old car has generally more headaches compared to a 10 year old car.

Kumportable, maporma at malakas pa tumakbo.

Yung facelifted EK from 1998-2000 maporma. Timeless design talaga. Pero yung 1996-1998 hindi. Kahit napaka well maintained, mukhang luma parin. If I were getting an EK, it'd have to be with a 200+k budget.

Gusto mo pormado? Mag Lynx ka na! Ayun pormado talaga yun.

Just don't expect FC figures from sub-compacts like the Vios or City. For family use ba kamo, much better ang midsize cars in terms of interior space and comfort.

I guess the TS has his mindset already on the Civic. Anyway, the Civic is really a good car, though he really has to be very meticulous on the rust issue and overheating history (if there is) on your prospective car. Check if the body parts specially at the roof, fenders, etc. are purely metal. Kung makapal masilya, pwedeng may tinatago sa ilalim na kalawang or unprotected metal which may easily absorb rusts.

oo nga sir, nakita ko kasi sa mga gli corolla kahit 94 modelyung car medyo mahal pa rin. kaya kung pipili ako ng 98 na gli vs 96 na civic vti with the same prize, sa civic na ko. =)
