What kind of help do you want? The suggestions made were good or do you want someone to go with you to look at the cars?

Our needs and use of the car would differ so it wouldn't help you even if I told you what to buy based what I would purchase. The best thing to do is find a car that you like and have a reputable mechanic look at it before you buy it. The model car really shouldn't matter because it's a used car and what you need to make sure of is that it wasn't abused by the previous owner. Also if your budget is 250K I would suggest saving some more money since what ever you get will most likely have a high odometer reading and require some repairs in the near future. The expense of owning a car isn't just in buying it but also in the maintenance of the vehicle. I have seen too many people buy used cars only to find themselves having to pay for repairs that they can't afford because they spent all their money during the purchase of the car. Make sure you have remaining money for repairs.

ako, van see my avatar, parang ganyan ride ko...

i have made the best suggestions i could give...may nirefer pa ako, na sure ko ok siya under 200K...wala ka nang gagawin, gagamitin mo nalang..

first, sabihin mo preference mo, budget, willing to spend sa repairs..car, van/mpv, wagon/sedan hatch....

ang suggestion ko, for 200k, get a galant GTI, or sentra series 3/seris 2 supersaloon, mazda familia glxi, a corolla w/ 4age swap... i have made 3 referrals na kanina....

if i were in your shoe, i won't buy a car yet what that small amount of cash... pwede pa siguro gawin ko pag downpayment for a brand new car... provided na may sobra pera ako kinikita pang bayad sa monthly amortization...

mas mabuti pa palaguin mo iyun pera hawak mo ngayon kaysa isayang mo lang sa pag bili ng 2nd had na kotse...

iyan ang payo ko sa iyo okay...

This is the best advice if you are not in a rush to get a car. Since the more money you bring to the table the better your choices become.

I suggest a Toyota brand car. My experience with my 96' Toyota Corolla XE was good. And now my car is Toyota Innova J.

A Sentra or old body Honda City will fit your budget. Don't worry about the low resale value of Nissans as you will actually benefit from it since you will be buying used.

The Cefiro is a nice ride but be prepared to pay for gas. It needs 95 octane and since its a V6 malakas sa gas ito. I have one and its my only complaint about the car.

When you look at the car, bring a mechanic to check the car. Test drive it on both good and bad roads. Test everything, lights, signals, power door locks, windows, etc.. Remember to alot a budget for repairs. After buying, change all fluids as you don't know when it was last changed. Remember when you buy 2nd hand, its always buyer beware. There are no warranties. Almost always as is where is yan. Just be carefull and don't pay much attention to the sales talk. They always say things like, sariwa, lady driven, nothing to fix but its all sales talk.

so looking for your 1st car? then you came to the right place!

what do you consider in looking for a car? is it the looks, the style?
how do you intend to use it?

    consider this:
    -reliability
-availability of affordable parts and serviceability
    -fuel consumption
    -resale value
    -safety features
    -ride comfort.

for me, i'd take honda civic lxi/vti or a corolla xe/gli variant anytime. these two were 'timeless'.
    why? f
for honda (at least, in my experience) kasi napakatipid sa gas at ok ang ride comfort. downside is that the parts were a bit expensive than corolla.

as for the corolla, madali ang parts, and serviceable. downside, medyo malakas sa gas.

you could also consider 323F 97-99 models. what i like in mazda is that it got DOHC engine (same with Corolla GLi), ABS and driver side airbags(99 models above). good styling. downside is, malakas sa gas, but its ok, mas malakas humatak di hamak sa Corolla.

just don't get an A/T models if it's not the Lancer semi-automatic. A/T models have the tendency to guzzle gas regardless of the model- be it honda or toyota.

A 97-98 model Honda City Type Z would be a good buy for your budget. If you're lucky, maybe you can score a low-mileage one. Its easy to drive plus there should be no major repairs assuming the car has not been in a serious accident.
