Buying Car In Manila and Bringing It To Mindanao To Save Money

I am planning to buy a car in Manila
so basically I save 50k on DP and 600 pesos on monthly fee
how about the registration and all? sa manila ko sya uutangin un or/cr ba sa manila rin or pede ipalipat sa mindanao?
pagnagparenew ng OR/CR kelangan ba pumunta ng manila kung manila registered or pede kahit saan?
does anyone have experience on these things?

kung dito mo siya binili, dito siya registered kaya manila plate siya, kung sakaling kailangan nang iparegister, ok lang ipa register sa Mindanao. may additional fee lang para sa pag transfer. ganyan siya dati bago pa lumabas yung bagong plate ngayon.

fort at hilux, pinadala namin sa mindanao, bali yung casa yung nag arrange ng pang ferry hanggang cotobato (2 years ago ang singil samin 35k).

Also heard about this. But someone told me that LTO is no longer assigning a specific plate for a specific city. How true is this??

I'm a dude from Leyte planning to buy a car late this year (1st time buyer). Been browsing different dealers in leyte, cebu, manila and noticed a large difference in SRP. Specifically, suzuki swift 1.2 MT is priced at 688k here and in cebu while in manila its only 638k. 50k difference!

1. Justifiable ba to na price difference to consider na dito na lang ako kumuha sa leyte?

2. If not and sa manila ako bumili, magkano aabutin ng additional expense kung si dealer na mag.arrange to ship the unit here in leyte?

The cost of driving your car would be lower than P50K plus you get yourself the needed break in run. Be sure to bring an alternate driver and travel during safe hours. Search for another thread here for tips about the long drive from Manila to Leyte/Cebu.

One option is to buy the vehicle in Manila then drive it via Ro-ro; that may be cheaper than outright shipping.

Cost is really higher in the province due to less competition and in some areas, lower volumes.

Taking off from this post, say 20k for shipping, then add 10k for your expenses na mag-asikaso dito, so 20k na lang diff, subukan mo na lang i-tawad ito.

Makatawad ka ng 10k so 10k diff na lang, but:

1. You get what you see.. unlike kung ipa-ship mo, baka may ma chip na paint or madumihan na interior, or whatever ek-ek;
2. You are sure you get your car.. pano kung minalas at lumubog yung barko? edi sakit ng ulo kausap mo ang insurance imbes na sana ay nag-eenjoy ka na pumasyal with your new ride;
3. You get to make friends with your local dealer;
4. Best of all, wala kang hassle sa pag-asikaso,

Depends if your depository bank in leyte agrees to partner with the dealer from Manila. Usually they dont unless you are a special client.

Nevermind the price diff, just make sure that the claims in warranty if needed be will be honored by the local dealer. Otherwise, it will be too much of a hassle later on.

Suggest nila sa lto sa may caloocan kami magrenew kasi dun sila nagrehistro. Ayun ok naman. May friend naman ako nagrenew ng lisensya sa ibang lto, wala pangalan nya dun. Pero kung san sya nagexam meron naman. Bulok ang system ng lto natin. Baka magkaproblema ka pa sa rehistro at magpabalik balik pa sa maynila

Nangyari na din sa akin yan. Sa probinsya ako kumuha ng license. Pero dahil 10yrs+ daw ako hindi nagrenew nawala na records ko sa "computer" nila. Baka database tinutukoy niya. So nung nagrenew/kumuha ako ng license sa Maynila back to zero.

Saan kaya napupunta ung computer fees na binabayaran natin??? [emoji246]

If you just want to save on shipping cost, ask the local dealer that you want the unit released in Manila. Buying in Manila will be cheaper only if you regularly go to Manila and also have a place to stay in Manila. Otherwise, if you add the hotel, food and other expenses it will come out the same. Or you can wait and buy when you are on vacation in Manila.
