sea.piper thanks,
what do you mean sila na ang nagasikaso? yung pinagbilihan mo or yung pinagdalhan mo ng auto sa crame?
me mga binayaran ka pa bang extra expenses for the papers bukod sa napagusapan nyong selling price?
Well nagbigay ako nang 5 thou as down payment, tapos ibinawas nila dun sa asking price nila.
sige ill ask the seller about it.
As like any other cars. Inspect it first. And if sobrang hard to find ang car na yan (I mean rare), na tipong konti lang parts dito. Expect mahal maintenance nyan pag nasira.
Ung tax, know if first. Sa customs ata bayad nito? Or LTO ba?
Questions to consider:
1) Is the diplomatic car LOCALLY PURCHASED or WAS IT SHIPPED IN FROM ABROAD? If it was purchased locally, no more taxes to be paid. If it was shipped in from abroad, be prepared to shell out about THREE HUNDRED PERCENT of your vehicle's actual market value.
I have had an experience with a RETURNING DIPLOMAT who wanted to sell his 1992 MB 190E. He had acquired and used the vehicle during the last 2 years of his stint in Japan. When we received the computation given by the Bureau of Customs, he was to pay more or less SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS in duties and taxes for the vehicle. This should give you something to ponder upon, if you were the buyer would you pay this amount aside from the asking price of the buyer? Many say that the computation can be reduced to almost zero value. That was before the adoption of the Blue Book and Red Book Values. These documents form the basis for the computation of duties and taxes for all vehicles regardless of their make, year model and country of origin. Maximum depreciation for computation is 50% of book value regardless of vehicle age
. And yes, the duties and taxes are paid directly to the Bureau of Customs.
2) Is the car LOCALLY AVAILABLE or is it a GEM OF A CAR? If the car is locally available, better buy that one which was locally purchased. But if the car is the one you've always wanted in your lifetime and was never available here... please consider the 2nd paragraph of the 1st question and the post of Sir lm723.

eh kung dont do anything na lang, continue using the diplomat plates, hindi kaya mas ok pa hehehe
pwede. gagawa lang ng deed of sale. pero nasa pangalan pa din ng diplomat ang kotse. this way, lusot ka sa taxes. (that is, kung papayag ang diplomat na daladala mo ang plaka ng embassy nila -- if i'm not mistaken, specific sa embassy ang number na nakalagay sa blue plate e)
Hehe... met someone once who did that... kept the vehicle under the diplomat's name until it had depreciated enough that he could afford to pay the importation tax.
That was before they changed the rules, though... agh... 600k for a 190E? Bull****! That's about how much the car is worth!
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
