If i have a car registered in the Visayas that i had shipped to Manila, what processes(and/or additional charges) do i have to go thru if i want to register it in Manila going forward? Anybody had any similar experience?

I know within Metro Manila(Luzon?), transfer of registration venue has a minimal fee(P100 yata), but nonetheless no added processes. But i'm talking about from one region to another, i.e. Visayas to Manila.

it's the same P100, change venue.

the real problem lies when you change ownership.

    Hi.

Try and visit the website of LTO. You can probably find the answers to your questions there: fees, procedures and the like.

Click the link on my post to go to the LTO site.

    Good luck.

resurrect ko lang 'tong thread...but now dun sa problematic na part which is transfer of ownership...

if i bought a car from visayas region and shipped it to manila, what's the process for the transfer of ownership? will i need to go to visayas and deal with LTO & the register of deeds for that region? how exactly should the process go? anyone who experienced this? or any company specializing in this specific task?

    sa kakaalam ko:

    1. pag change of ownership, you have to go to the LTO office where the car was registered. thus, kung sa visayas yan, then you have to go back to the visayas LTO office of the car's registry

    2. pag renewal lang of registration, puede na sa any LTO office where the car is located. they have to stencil and check the emission test results of the car

    3. hmmmm, wala atang involvement ang register of deeds dito. para lang sa real properties ang register of deeds

If the car was previously encumbered, you will have to bring the notarized RELEASE OF CHATTEL MORTGAGE to the registry of deeds office where the document was signed. The RELASE OF CHATTEL MORTAGE is provided by the bank/lending institution once fully paid.

You will need two more copies aside from the original. One will be kept by the registry of deeds, the other will be presented to LTO.

P100 na pala. Dati P50 lang yan. I think this applies whether from one region to another. Just confirm with LTO website.

swordsman, you can initiate transfer at any LTO office, but the transfer of ownership may take a while because the CR will have to be verified from the issuing office. Either you hand carry the request to the issuing office (quicker) or have the LTO contact the other LTO which may take months because it's in Visayas.

If it is previously encumbered, see my previous post.
